tower and 3 swords

mia28

Hi all
i did a spread i saw on here for two diffrent people.
I am wonering how others would view the tower if it came up in position to determing if a person was useing another.
Sames goes for 3 swords.

I thought yes with the tower and it possibly came as a wake up call which shook person up bit emotionally.

With 3 swords i thought that either one was inficting pain on another due to arguments. possible manipulation dont know why i think that lol.
Or yes person was using another as there is also someone else involed with the person.
Id appreciate your thought on these cards :)

The Chariot is better for me to identify someone who wants to "use" one another, 'cause it could be, in its negative meaning, someone who doesn't look anybody in face (sorry for my english!) to get something.
Instead I think the Tower shows, especially with 3S, bad tempered, disputes. So for me this person doesn't wants to use the one another, but maybe they have two different points of view and they don't understand each other. Not manipulation, maybe he/she only see him/herself and he/she's not consider the other person.

That depends hugely on how you read the cards. And for me on the card images too and what you feel at the time.

But for me, The Tower...could mean yes or no., I'd have to feel which it meant at the time. But the Tower, for me simply means that things have suddenly and unexpectedly changed, and changed forever. It could be better or it could be worse it depends. As for the imagery,I have often seen the people falling as two people suddenly falling in love. So hmmmm The Tower? Could be yes and it could be no. I'd have to feel it at the time which it was saying.

As for the 3 of Swords, that would be a definitely no for me. But the way I read is a bit unusual. I refer the number of the Minors back to the Major card of the same number and add in the suit.

So for me the 3 of Swords = The Empress of Swords = caring, nurturing, supporting thoughts about someone, of thinking of them in that way. So to me, that would be a deifnite no there. The 3 of Swords, for me, would be almost the complete opposite of using someone.

Yes, I can see that, the Chariot couldhave that meaning for me, of using someone. To me the Chariot is about facing a difficulty and not backing down until you come out victirous. It could in that sense be about standing up to the person trying to use you and being assertive and not letting it happen.

Thanks for your feedback :)
I wrote this note because I'm usually search what I ask in the spread, for example if I ask "Does he want to use me?", I would search some card that remind me to the concept of "use".

I would say if the question was asked, "is this person using me" the answer with the tower and 3 of swords combination is a flat out no, get over yourself type answer.

hi

I just noticed the replys soz :)
thanks for replys

It was 2 seperate readings i did for two completly diffrent people lol.
The position are they using me and tower came up.
The other person got 3 swords in this position.
Thanks for your help although am sure its not either person who needs to get over themself. Mabe you have a point if it were both cards in same question. Could you explain bit about how these two cards could mean that one needs to get over themself if it did come out would be intresting to see you got that.

Hi all

I am wonering how others would view the tower if it came up in position to determing if a person was useing another.

To begin with, I'm really having an issue with the actual phrasing of this question.
All people "use" each other, in one way or another; we each receive some sort of benefit from our relationships.

For example, in a way I am "using" my husband for the love, affection and support he offers me.
However, our relationship is healthy because it is reciprocal (I offer him the same -- or equitable --qualities in return).

It is when we are giving much more than we are receiving, that we tend to see ourselves as being "used".

I understand that this question was part of a larger spread, but if a card position/question doesn't really work, you can always experiment with tweaking it.
Spreads are not set in stone (as far as my reading style goes, anyway :) ).

So I would change the question to something like:
"Is person X taking advantage of me?"
"Is person X manipulating me?"

And if you wanted to get away from yes/no questions (which many readers are uncomfortable with) altogether:
"What does the current balance of my relationship with person X look like?"
"What can I do to ensure that person X does not manipulated or take advantage of me?"

As far as the Tower and 3S:
The Tower would indicate to me a possible yes, since the relationship appears to be built on a rocky/false/unstable foundation.
In reality, things are probably not really the way you believe them to be, and your illusions may result in a sudden wake-up call.

To me 3 Swords indicates heartbreak, which could also result from a feeling of being used, or from other issues.

Again, the interpretations may be unclear, due to the ultimate "murkiness" of the question.

You can get genuine people out there who tend to not use someone for anything. myself being one of these people. Also you do get people who are not the most nice of people who would go with a person because mabe they have no money other person does so uses that person to get there hands on there money or another example a person filling another up with lies in order to use this person for sex e.c.t this is where i was coming from. the spread was not my own was someone elses lol. I am not talking of a equal sillyness like using someone for love them getting that back in return. can you see where iam coming from here. people lie cheat to use people for many diffrent things. Ima talking as in an unhealthy way someone can be used. Yes you may be right in changing spreads. I do usally do this myself. Although as i said it was someones spread i used and giving it a try for practice with few people i know. harmless fun really without any serious nature intended as i was aware this is a learning forum. posting to recive help on cards we wish to know more about this is what is important to me learning at this time. I appeciate your comments though and will take it on board.

I get that from the story about the tower of babylon in the bible, and also because the tower is in the shape of an I. Recalling that old saying "there is no "I" in team". The tower is about that I focus being disrupted what "I" think, what "I" believe - the whole point of "I" is no longer valid when something outside has the capacity to disrupt it and totally annihilate it.
