Crystals for Temper

dicey

Maybe you should just use a smaller crystal first. Like testing it out to see how much an effect a small crystal would have. I guess you would only need a balancing stone when you feel the blue crystal you're using is doing its job too effectively and it's already giving you an overdose.

I have not read that you need to "always" use a balancing stone to offset the effects of another. For certain instances when the effect is strong, they will only advice that you use for a short period of time. For another, like a rose quartz, they will advise you to use it with amethyst if you have too many amorous suitors to ward off :)

That's what I meant by balancing, dicey, you worded it great: "too effectively" is what I was thinking.

As far as using a small crystal, when I first tried putting amethyst under my pillow for insomnia, I had been using a medium sized stone, perhaps a couple of inches in diameter - definitely larger than most tumbled stones, so that could have been it - too much amethyst. I'll see how I do with the small pendant. A small amethyst may be all I need.

I will look through some blue and purple stones and see what strikes me.

I will second howlite.

Howlite

I have been thinking about Howlite, but it is a soft stone and I am afraid of how it will do in the workplace. I don't have any place to keep crystals or stones at work.

I would recommend the rose quartz highly. it is a huge stress relieving stone and just gives you a warm, peaceful feeling when you have it with you. it is a gentle, loving stone that helps one to feel calm and at peace. this stone can truly make one feel compassion towards others, and will help to heal emotional wounds and anger and frustrations. this stone is lovely to look at and a wonderful healing stone for anything emotional in my opinion.

Sodalite is another good stone to consider as well. This is a stone that will help you to also remain calm during troubling times. it helps one to verbalize their feelings properly and is also emotionally balancing. it is fantastic for anyone who experiences panic attacks. it is also a great stone for someone who suffers from insomnia and is good for high blood pressure, and throat issues--especially vocal cords.

Well, it's soft, but not so soft that you can't do some damage with it if it doesn't work and you DO lose your temper. THAT'S what I'd be looking for, a pretty stone that I can throw at someone, because I'm tired of breaking my cellphones.

Onyx or hematite would be my suggestion because they ground and repel negativity.

Will have to look into howlite.

:p Maybe I should look into carrying more stones with me, for when I am angry..............

I´m talking about pearls again..and they are not crystals..but..

My Indian friend always wears pearls and she said her Granny gave her lots as a gift and particularly to help even her fiery temper. She even sleeps with her pearl ring on her finger. She said it helps like nothing else. When she feels anger rising she just looks at the ring on her finger or feels the necklace and she feels calmer. It can be "just" psychological -but whatever it is, it works.

Pearls are just beautiful. The color alone is enough to relax a person.

Hey, I'm a firm believer that if it works, use it!
