For those who don't.....

.....read reversals, do you shuffle your cards a certain way to where the cards are always upright or do you just shuffle with no set way, then turn the card around when it appears reversed?

This question is more for those who turn them around, do you ever feel you are ignoring something when they come reversed but you read them as upright?

Thanks ...

Hey Goth!!

My cards are never reversed because of the way i shuffle and cut the cards. I figure whatever message needs to be conveyed with be in any case BUT if one did come up then i would take it into consideration.

How do you shuffle?

Same as katieb above.

I shuffle as many times as I feel, thinking about the person and the question. How about you guys?

only started reading reversals, because learning reversals was too complex at first. But it definitely adds to the repertoire being able to read reversed too. I always wondered if i was missing something without the knowledge and, yeah i was!

With my one deck I don't read reversals with, just like you. I shuffle it a certain way so none will come out reversed. If one does which sometimes happens, I KNOW it's telling me I must pay attention to it as a reversal.

I mainly read reversals but there is one deck that I leave as uprights. Like you and katieb.

This is exactly how I felt so I began acknowledging them. It was like a nagging feeling I couldn't ignore anymore.

Apollonia

I shuffle so that the cards remain in their upright orientation. If a reversed card slips in (which maybe happens two or three times a year), I will mentally note the reversal as something anomalous to pay attention to. I do not go into the full "reversed card" interpretation of it but it does add a certain "reversed flavor," if that makes sense.

For example, just recently I did a Celtic Cross and around a certain question that was phrased as a yes/no question, and the Ace of Swords came up reversed in the near future position. Since for me the Ace of Swords is one of my "Yes" cards, I did feel that was an indication that the probable answer to the question was going to be a firm "No," and the rest of the spread confirmed that feeling.

Very interesting Apollonia. The Ace of Swords is a yes card to me as well. Thanks for sharing that..

I think I pay attention to elemental dignities, and if the people on the cards are facing towards or away from each other to read the more negative meaning of the card, if required.

For example, sometimes the king and queen are facing towards each other, and at other times have their back to each other. Or if a fire-y card is next to an earth card. That is all I do to try and read a card as negative even though on the surface it can be seen as a "positive" card so to speak.

Ahhh yes, I still do that with the uprights (where the court cards are facing) even though I read RX. I wonder if I'm doing too much. ;) Actually as of late I've begun to read more intuitively. It's really weird at first to do this but once you get the hang of it, it becomes quite enlightening.

I agree! I intuitively decide to care about the faces, the elemental dignities, or both.
