dreampower deck ????

I just went and looked at these cards and they are beautiful. I understand that the majors are not numbered, and that the suits are a little different, but overall the review I read and my impression of the cards was WOW. The artwork is lovely. It seems that this deck is based on Jungs archtypal psychology and that it is really good for those individuals that are into dreams. I think I am going to have to add thi to my wish list ... go figure ;) Love & Light,

I have this deck, and it's not one of my favorites. There are some interesting Majors, but I find the Majors to be very variable in terms of art -- some are beautiful but some seem very badly painted. But my real beef is with the Minors. They are even less illustrated than non-illustrated pip decks. For a whole suit, they use one painting (the *same* painting) for each card, along with an Arabic numeral and a card title. So for a whole suit you're looking at one picture. I guess the artist couldn't be bothered to even paint different pictures with two pips, three pips, etc. Or maybe the publishers didn't want to pay him to do that. Whatever, it seems a cop-out. Jewel, So you like a deck I like. Go figure?? That's never happened before has it? ROFL Lee, Yeah I had heard that about the minors. If I got the deck I probably would just use it as a majors only deck. But you say teh majors are inconsistant too??? hmmmmm

I took another look at this deck, and perhaps I was a little harsh about it. There are some interesting ideas, and the artwork isn't really that bad, and some of it is quite nice. Although Stewart does provide in the book a correlation between these majors and standard Tarot majors, they're so different as to be practically non-Tarot. Those minors still irk me, though. You can see all the cards at this site: http://www.dreampower.com There you can get a reading with the deck, which gives you a 22-card layout, and it gives you a good idea of what the deck looks like when used in a reading. The website says the deck is out of print, and I've checked on the internet and it doesn't seem to be available anywhere, so you might have a hard time finding it. -- Lee
