yes.. I'll admit it... I don't yet own a tarot deck...
I'm wanting to pick up a copy of the Dragon Tarot, but seeing as it'll be my first and I've heard some mixed reviews on this particular deck, I thought I'd gather some opinions from the experts.
So, if anybody has some experience with this deck, I'd be ever so grateful if you could let me know what you thought of it.

I have it, I like the imagery (i like dragons) but I don't read with it very well.
Personally, I like the slightly more traditional Rider Waite decks.
But it's a personal choice. I usually recommend that beginners start with the RW style decks, but I also think that if a deck speaks to you then that's what you should use.
Another thought...
many beginner books are designed to be used with RW style traditional decks so it can be confusing when your deck has different symbology.

I love this deck, I think the dragons are just so cool ! I have used it for readings and that worked well, but I think it's a tough deck to learn with: the imagery on the minors is not very strong, there is a book with this deck but I did not find it a very good one. So if you use another book you're stuck with different pictures...can be difficult for learning.
I learnt tarot with the rider-waite...I never use it now but it's good for learning.
But if the dragon is really the deck for you, you may want to take the extra effort to work with this one.
It's not the easiest choice for a starters deck but it's up to you to decide. If you really like the pictures that will be an extra motivation which will also help.

My husband had the Dragon Tarot once but we lost it, he always liked it but then hes been reading over 10 years now and always was a natural at it (im so jealous of that)
But, perhaps youd like the Celtic Dragon tarot? I hear its mnore traditional and easier to learn on than the regular Dragon Tarot. Maybe start with Celtic Dragon, then get Dragon, then a bunch more that suit you fancy hehehe Heres some pics of Celtic Dragon

Thanks for the input, everyone! If it really comes down to personal choice, I think I'm going to take a whack at it. Dragons are my 'thing'. I'l keep that Celtic Dragon one in mind, but where I'm living it'll be tough to hunt a copy down.
