I first saw this deck in the review of aecelectic tarot.
http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/davids/index.html
I was attracted by the black-and-white artistic drawings of the Majors.I even thought of getting a tattoo of 'The Fool' cause I like it so much.
Does anyone has this deck? Do you read with it?

*LOL* yeah,it's true, they do look like inkblots!!
But I have to say I like the ambiguous and the mysterious style of the "inkblots".
Just wondering, does the David of the David's Tarot a member of this forum?

I've always been fond of David's Tarot -- probably because stylistically, it reminds me of Picasso's famous illustration of Don Quixote, and I've always loved that work. It takes quite a talent to say "a lot with a little," but IMO, Mr. Chastain manages to pull it off.
When I checked with Mr. Chastain several months ago, he informed me that the David's Tarot was OOP, but that he was planning on reprinting it in the near future. I haven't checked back with him since that time, so I do not know if it is available again yet.

Diana: Yes, but the list of artists I need to contact is long, and growing. So, when it comes to deciding which decks to pursue next, it's sort of a "squeaky wheel" situation. Are you "squeaking" about the David's deck?

oh dear!! Is it out of print?? :(
I do hope he will do a reprinting.Heard from Thirteen that he has one.
According to him, he said that the "Only problem is the deck's on card stock. I gotta find a way to laminate the cards so I can actually use them without fear of them tearing, bending or getting stained."
I hope the re-printing of the cards is of better, harder quality,so I could use them too.

The thing about this deck which really attracts me, is that, like with inkblot pictures, you can see many things in the cards which aren't definite, but are still meaningful to you... Very good for intuitive reading.
I'd love to try reading with this deck to see if my theory here is actually true in real life...

if you are interested in an in print black and white majors only self published deck, try the eternal dream tarot. arnette arnot has a review of it at passages. it cost me $20 plus postage. it's not as simple as david's but i like it a lot. lots of soul. the card stock isn't the best or worst. i plan to laminate it eventually so i can use it w/o concern.
