Dear all,
I hope, that here is someone who knows the series "Charmed" and can help me with my question. I'm from Germany, and last week we could see, that Paige did the cartomancy (do you say it this way?) for Phoebe and Cole refering to their future. The cards were very bad...
My question is: Did anyone see this serie (maybe in your country is was on TV before) and can tell me, how this tarot deck is called? I haven't seen this before watching "Charmed".
Thank you very much for your answers!
Your Elisha

Yes, I am very curious, too, although I didn't see that episode myself. A friend of mine did, though, and she would love to get those cards.
Surely, someone on this forum must have seen the episode and know which deck is used? The backs are red, apparently. Ofcourse, it is possible that they cards shown were created for the series.
refering to their future. The cards were very bad...
Ás always, in films or on television. I would love to see a card reading used that predicts wonderful things (just perhaps not the wonderful things the protagonist is looking for) or is just really dull....

This episode was shown here the other day and I managed to tape it, still trying to work out what deck but I saw the 3 cards pulled and one of the minors.
It was one of the large oversize decks, in a blue? velvet bag (they could have been put in there for the show though) red backs, nice drawings on the Majors - with writing - despair shows 3 swords piercing the chest of a man on his knees, I think Death was a skeleton with a scythe (got to check that one) but the Minors were pip cards - it looked like a marseilles type deck - I wondered if it could be one of the Lo Scarabeo decks because it looked old fashioned.
I'm going to do a search after to see if I can pin this deck down, I really liked the look of it, even if the cards were so negative lol :)

Thank you very much for your answers. I was so hopeful, that you, Tarotlady, found the Charmed-deck. But in my opinion it isn't the right deck. It was more expressiv and the subtitles are missing.
A friend of mine offered me to ask the production firm, which deck they used. But he doesn't know the name and adress of this firm. Does anyone of you know it?
Thanks
Elisha

Try www.thewb.com from there click on shows on the right and then you can click on the charmed website. That episode that you just saw was I believe last season here in the U.S. They also have a Charmed Message board but there is over 200 some pages to go through but you may be able to post the question and maybe someone can help you. Good Luck

Thank you very much! I found the production firm on the page you mentioned. It is Spelling Television. I hope, that I found the right address.
It is:
Spelling Television Inc., 5700 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90036-3659, U.S.A.
If we receive a helpful answer, I will post the name of the deck here.

Oh, yes please! It looked like an interesting deck, and I didn't recognise it as the Visconti-Sforza either. That didn't look right somehow.

Could that be the one?
Aha! This is a different episode, that's why it isn't this deck. The cards were used by another character.

The original title of the episode should be: Marry-Go-Round
I am trying to find pics, but ARGH!!! :(

Yes, I think the episode is called "Marry-go-round". In Germany it is called "Die Braut trägt schwarz"; translated word by word it means "The bride wears black".
I still have the hope, that we will find the name of the deck. As soon, as I know it (if I will get to know it...), I will post it here.

Now I don't even pretend to be an expert but I have seen (in person or on the internet) ALOT of decks!! ROFL
But I saw this episode and the cards and didn't recognize them at all.
I've always been interested to see what deck it was too! Who knows though, they may be a made up deck just for the show?????

I've been looking for this deck since I past posted and I've had no luck whatsoever. And seeing the despair card again it really looks like the 3 Swords and yet the minors shown were just pip cards, I wonder if they had used two different decks and mixed them for the show. It seems strange that the quality of the Majors shown was so good, very clear drawings, old fashioned but the pips reminded me of the 1JJ Swiss, nothing special but they didn't seem to match the Majors.
There are other people looking for these cards on the Charmed message boards too and they're not having any luck either.

I downloaded the episode from Kazaa. Will try and do screencaptures of the cards, if the quality's not too low - it's not a very good quality copy.
Addendum: I could not get a clear shot, the tranfer was very dark. Sorry, guys.

Is it possible to actually write the studio or the director & ask what was used in the show? The people's names are always run at the end of the show, so you can send it to a real person as opposed to just the studio address. A direct answer would be a nice solid one, even if all you find out are that they did those cards up special for the episode.

Dear all,
I know, that I said my friend is able to write a message to Spelling Television and ask them, which deck they used. But unfortunatelly, he doesn't feel well at the moment and I think, he won't ask them within the next days.
Me, I don't like to write or call them, because my english isn't as good as it should be to talk with them. Maybe someone of you could be so kind to do it. I already found the numbers.
SPELLING TELEVISION, INC.
PHONE (213) 965-5700
FAX (213) 965-5895
It was the episode 4.15 and it was directed by Chris Long.
