Great news for the Marseilles fans!
In about a week's time, Kris Hadar's Marseilles deck will be available directly from his web-site!
http://www.krishadar.com
Don't hesitate to buy it! You will never regret it. I give my word!
And you can learn how to use it, absolutely free of charge, by becoming a member of the The Kris Hadar Virtual Institute, which is now also in English. (Again, see his wonderful web-site.)

I have browsed this site in passing a couple times and it looks wonderful. Also some great ideas for thought concerning tarot.
Does Mr. Hadar have any images from his deck available to see?

Khatruman: I will ask him.
If anyone has any specific questions on Mr. Hadar's deck, will they please make posts in this thread. I have told him that I will be compiling a list of questions to send to him next week. I know he will be only too pleased to answer us.
(I already have a Hadar deck, but I will be ordering another one. Two Hadar's is the absolute minimum for me! One at home and one that I carry around with me! :) ).

The Hadar and the Jodo/Camoin as well as being new fresh modern renditions of the old woodcuts are both interesting 'restoration' decks to use for comparing against the 1760 Conver TdM (Heron or LoScarbareo) to see which extra details the restorers added to the Conver patterns.

Are all the images that are linked on that site from the Hadar deck? They look a little cleaner and more richly colored, but basically the same as the Grimaud deck woodcuts that I have.
Kaz, with all due respect, I would definitely like to see them for myself, rather than site unseen. Beauty is indeed something in the eye of the beholder, and I know many who are captivated by decks, finding them strikingly beautiful, where they may just fall flat to me.
Thanks..:D

Khatruman ... It truly is a case of the eye of the beholder. From among the photoreproductions and 'restorations', the one that personally strikes me the most for its beauty is the Jodorowsky/Camoin 'restored' TdM. As noted, though, both the Jodo/Camoin and the Hadar decks add/restore details you don't see in the Conver 1760.

From the page I posted the link to, all the images are from the Hadar deck. That page is part of a larger site that has images from many decks, including several Marseilles reproductions.

I don't speak French either, for the record. :)

Hi Diana, thank you for posting this. It is clearly a very special deck and I want it! If you have not sent your list of questions yet, I would like to ask Mr Hader about the small design in the center of the four of coins, it looks like the one on the Jean Dodal deck, a kind of cross made of loops and then some...what are they, crosses? three leaved clovers? It is interesting how combinations of fairly simple and abstract shapes can seem so full of significance once they are on a tarot card and you look at them differently. Anyway I wonder what Mr. Hader (or anyone) has to say about the meaning of this little detail.
Thank you
Myrrha

I re-read the June 27th note and it seems there are lessons and other things to explore--wonderful--but I've not heard or seen anything on the deck yet through K. Hadar's site.
That's okay, it should be a matter of a few weeks or months for a reproduction that nice. I'm checking on Camoin reproduction information as well.
Thanks for your posts on the Hadar deck.

The Hadar is indeed a beautiful deck. For those interested, I have written Aeclectic reviews for both the Camoin and the Hadar Marseilles decks (the review of the Hadar follows the Camoin review on the same page).
As I may have mentioned somewhere before, whereas the Conver seems to be the repository of the Historical version, the 1998 Camoin tends to be an excellent and beautiful 'head' deck, and the 1996 Hadar a beautifully rendered 'heart' one...
Definitely one of my favourite full deck available.
