Does anybody own and read with this deck?
I nearly bought it a month or so ago because I have always been struck with the art work. However, I didn't buy it.
My questions are -
The colours seem quite muted and not very strong. Is this the same or just how it seems over the internet?
Are there illustrated minors?
Does anybody know where I can view the whole deck on the web? I have only seen the majors?
I ask these questions because I don't want another deck like the Adrian or Winged Spirit (which I think have beauty but do not 'speak' to me in the way that decks like The Waite and Rohrig do.
Thanks in advance

Yaboot001:
Although the coloration of the Castelli "Art Nouveau" deck are hardly neon-bright, I wouldn't classify them as "muted" either. They do tend to be a bit toward the lighter shades of the spectrum (i.e., lavendar instead of purple, mint instead of green), but I still find the overall look to be quite "vibrant."
The minors are fully illustrated. I don't know of any place on the web to see the whole deck. In general, publishers discourage this because it opens the door to illegal replication in toto. tarot.com is the exception, having licensed the rights to show the entire deck of most current USG releases from USG itself. But you won't find Lo Scarabeo, Llewellyn, Thorsons, Little Bear, and other massmarket products shown there.
If you have a particular card or three you'd like to see, I can scan them for you and throw 'em up on the Tarot Garden website for a bit. Just let me know.

Oh, and I forot to ask - does anybody read with the Karma tarot? This is another one I consider getting occasionally. From what I saw of it originally, I had a strong aversion. And then ... well, you know how dislike can turn round.
Anyway, same questions apply for this deck if any of you read with it.
Cheers

Jeanette,
Thank you for your advice and for replying.
I thought that this deck may be a little deeper and vibrant in real life.
For some reason, I always look for the Knight of Cups when I view a deck. Not sure why. If you could paste it up, could you let me know when and how I can access it.
Thanks a lot
Best wishes

I had the art nouveau but I traded it away. I thought it was a beautiful deck, but for me it always remained a collection of pretty pictures, not really tarot. I think I am not the only one who had this problem with this deck...

Thankyou Jeanette
A lovely card but I just didn't get any feeling from it. I think that this may be the problem with the deck for me. I can imagine them on my bathroom wall but I can't see myself reading with them on a dark October night.
I have been looking at the Buckland Romani and saw all cards from the deck. This one talks so I might make that my next one when I can afford to.
Thanks again and best wishes

Hi Yaboot001,
I own the art nouveau deck by Castelli. If you want the pictures to speak to you, I would suggest you look elsewhere. These cards are very difficult to match to the traditional meanings of the cards. That is why they are stuck in my closet somewhere. Maybe one day I will try them out again or maybe I will sell them. :)
Hope this was helpful. ;)

i think this is a lovely deck but it doesn't rate high on my readability scale. i think the art and pastel colors are nice but there is a superficial fluffy feel about it. it's not a bloody deck. i can't really criticize it compared to LS decks that i really can't relate to at all like to avalon.
i like the myers art nouveau better but some considers it a "when ken met barbie" deck. i use it for relationship readings since that's seems to be what it is geared toward.
