My husband ordered the Camoin restored Tarot de Marseilles for me as a surprise, but I got a confirmation e-mail that the payment had been processed. Now I know it's coming and I don't know how long I'm going to have to wait for it.
I'm tearing my hair out!!! Please- any and all posts that can tell me anything about this deck will be greatly appreciated.
What do you think about this deck? What are your opinions, your feelings? Any interesting facts? Any comments on the symbolism, colouring, numbering, facial expressions?
This will be my first Marseilles deck. Indulgence urgently anticipated. Big kisses to all of you.

Nope! Won't tell you a thing! You'll have to sit and suffer in silence. }) (Well, there is that egg......)

Belladona,
Hehehe, I could be mean, and tease you, but I won't. The Camoin is my very favorite favorite favorite TdM of all TdM's. And I have 8 or 9 different TdM's. Your husband picked the absolutely best one. The quality of the Camoin deck is excellent, the ink crisp, and I think it has the best coloration of all the TdM decks.
You'll have to tell me what you think.
Oh by the way, I ordered it from France too and I thought it came very fast. I bet you'll have it within the week.

My instant tarot reading is that you are a very fortunate and deserving person with a delightful gift coming to you. Here's three links as you wait:
An interesting website:
http://www.philippe-camoin.com/philippe_camoin_en/index.asp
Fifth deck described in table.
http://www.tarothermit.com/decks.htm
A review:
http://www.wicce.com/camoinmar.html
Also search the forum with 'camoin' in the term and more discussion and links...and for those of us who do not have the beautiful reproduction, I for one am smiling in delight for you. I'm not envious yet as I am still deciding on a luxery French TdM for myself...I've been haunting the Hader site that Diana has posted.
I believe the first link also lists a book or online excerpts with plenty of great descriptions of the deck. What I enjoy most about the site is the historical and art background discussed...worthy of a book in itself. Hope you get time to explore and print the pages to make yourself a booklet...that way you can also acquaint yourself with the way the deck looks.
Once I had decided on one particular di Gumppenberg as my classic reading deck, I started finding links and interesting study possibilities.
Beautiful choice! Congradulations and happy reading,
Mari_Hoshizaki
