Hello,
To those experienced collectors out there, what are examples of some of the more desirable handmade decks, both comtemporary and historical, available for sale. Please provide URL's to any websites offering the decks for sale.
Thank you!

Desireable according to whose opinion? That's a hard one. Plus some are out of print & even harder to find than hens teeth (I'm thinking Servants of the Light for one).
Just off the top of my head I can list two:
The Mary-el Tarot is pretty well known.
http://www.mary-el.com/le.html
Tarot of the Crone
http://www.croneways.com/
Several people here also have their own decks done up. We used to have more threads available to search on. But now the archives are a little hard to get into.
However, if you go to the top of the page, use the search function, type in 'making your own tarot', click on 'match partial name', then narrow down to searching pattern to only the 'tarot deck creation' board, you'll get a lot of interesting stuff.
There's so many decks out there. Have you also looked at www.tarotgarden.com? They carry some artist produced decks or at least have them listed if the actual deck is out of print & unavailable.

The Portal Tarot is a hand-made deck. Whether it's desirable is obviously a matter of taste. ;)

This Tarot is hand-made and is Ryder-influenced. The artwork is pretty nice as well. (see examples in the "Decks" section of this site)

oh, yes! that reminds me of the simple tarot. it reminds me of the ator but is different in its own stead. wonder how many more we can tweak each other into thinking of?
ps to aerin--i am so jealous that you have the limited ed. mari-el! i must consider the possibilities of how i might obtain it myself!

Thank you to all for the suggestions--keep them coming! Solandia made a few of her own, but said I could get the most help by posting to the forum.

How about the Fantasy Showcase tarot, which is still sold from time to time on E-bay by the wife of the man who put it all together. I think it's more about the art than the tarot, but it's a fun deck.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Merryday http://www.merrydaytarot.com/ would also qualify.

Please would you share Solandia's suggestions, if there are any more than have already been put up?

ps truthsayer, it is well worth getting hold of. I wouldn't usually say that of a majors only deck, but I have loved it online for so long

My favorite self-published/hand made deck is the Fractal Firebird Tarot, a beautiful and mesmerizing deck by Maria Kruse. It is available in regular, large, and small sizes. (I got the large size, highly recommended!):

I believe the Parrott Tarot deck is self-published. I recently got this deck, and the card stock is very professional (slick, sturdy, easily shuffled) and the Golden Dawn inspired symbolism is very rich:

I love the StickFigure Tarot! Pretty sure that was a very limited-edition art deck.

that reminds me, i believe that the Hello, Kitty! deck is a self-published one. there's also david's tarot and the eternal dream-a major's only.
i remember when i got offered the stickman deck for $20 but i thought-naw! why would i want a deck like that? now it's selling for like a million dollars and your first born child.
does the templar deck count? i don't think it's hand made but it's self-published.

The Tarot Chesta deck caught my eye, but I can't seem to get a response from Chesta. His website is still up. Does anyone know whether or not he is still publishing the deck?
Regards,
Jason
