Hi Everyone
I just had to let you al know that I have finished my dolphin tarot deck and I am so excited!! You can see some images from it at my website www.dolphin-daze.com One of my favorite things about this deck is that I found some special paper to print it on that is a lovely iridescent white paper that shimmers between white and golden in the light and is very rich looking :)
Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful feedback and encouragement on this deck :)

Samantha,
I loved the sample card you sent me!! So I'm not surprised at how much I like the other cards too! :)
Hopefully it won't take me as long to get this deck as it took me to get your Samantha's Tarot!!
(which all you folks out there should have too!! It's a wonderful reading deck, plus being gorgeous) hehe So everyone needs to have one of each!! LOL

And it's a nice little jewel. I have a shell box that my grandmother gave me for old buttons and shells...I put Dolphin Daze and a fun black and white Simple Tarot in it. Something pretty, clear and fresh and one of the few artistic decks that I don't mind lack of a book.
A pocket deck size, as well, great for travel
Congradulations and hope continued success in your fine and precious art!

...just got the courts this week, so was going to play with it in my next trip. In the winter, having a decorative little deck that reminds me of beaches and kayaking and sunny shores will be fun...

P.S. We'll be at inlaws near Cleveland this year! Talk about the lake effect....

Hi Everyone
Thanks for all the positive feedback on my deck it really means alot to me! I am so excited to have finished it before the holidays. I have always loved dolphins and my goal with this deck was not to create a "theme" deck but to create a deck that is a tarot deck that features dolphins. :) I was really lucky to find the irredescent white paper to print it on, I just wish that there was some way to photograph the way the decks sparkles in the light. One of my favorite things with handmaking each and ever one of the 50 decks in this edition is that while it is very time consuming I also get a chance to put a part of myself into each and every deck that I create.

I've been peeking at your deck and you have such fresh original ideas on your majors.
The Empress dolphin with her baby. You can feel the love and care.
Wheel of fortune- the dolphin investigating a sunken ship and there's the ships wheel. I love this card.
The Hangman is a dolphin kite. Very cute and fresh.
Devil- the poor dolphin caught in a tuna net. But he looks like he will get himself free
Tower- dolphins discover a sunken city and the pillars are crumbling around them.
You draw the dolphins bodies so well, with such grace. You can feel them skimming through the water. I also get a feeling of how at one they are in their watery world. I also like the way you styled the lettering on the cards.
It's a wonderful, delightful deck. You should be very proud. Namaste

Sorry - I feel I am very late here. But just to say congratulations on this - it's a great achievement to get the deck out and "real". Well done! All best wishes with it, I'm sure it'll be a success.

Hi There
Thank you so muc Lark for the compliments, I hope you guys don't mind if I chat a bit about the images :) !
The Empress card is one I really like as dolphin mothers are so attentive and protective to their little ones. When it is time for the baby to be born, other female dolphins act as midwives and gather around the mother to protect her and the baby from danger. After birth, the baby must breath air right away and the mother pushes the baby to the surface for it's first breath of air. The mother dolphin may nurse a baby for as long as eighteen monthsand so the mother and baby have a very close bond.
Wheel of fortuneis kind of a fun one as I was watching a nature program that talked about how while it is upsetting for a ship to sink that all is not lost as these ships often provide m uch needed protected habitat for many other sea creatures. In many parts of the world they are already building artificial reefs to help combat dwindling fish and shellfish populations. While the wheel turns what is bad for one may very well be good for another or good in ways we don't always see. :)
When I design my cards I try to create cards that while telling a story also make you ask questions. When people look at say the Wheel of Fortune I hope that they will ask themselves some of these questions and many more lol such as "why is the dolphin at the ship? Is he with humans that we can't see? Is he looking for fish or treasure? ...." I could go on and on and on lol but you guys get the idea. Well I will write more later
Thanks
Samantha
