I have it! I found it in a little shop in Partick (the area of Glasgow where I live), which is FULL of tarot decks! Seriously, they have ones I hadn't even HEARD of!
So, I ended up buying the Greenwood for £25, and the Tarot of Mermaids and Chinese Tarot, and Rachel Pollack's 78 Degrees of Wisdom.
I'm in heaven! :)

Yay!!!
Congrats on finding the Greenwood at such a good price! You got a really great deal for an out-of-print deck. The Tarot of Mermaids is a fine deck too, very nice art. I'm not familiar with the Chinese Tarot, but I have read 78 Degrees of Wisdom and I think you'll enjoy it.
Three new decks and a book!
Sounds like Tarot heaven to me. :)

DarkAngel, well done!
I have the deck and I'm having a devil of a time trying to get the book to go with it. There is an on-line book on Chesca's site which is excellent but I don't think its the complete book. Do you have the book? Does your shop have a spare book?
Worth a try eh?

Moonbow, I think this was the only deck - book set they had, but if you post the address of the site I can compare it against my book, and let you know if there's anything missing.
I also got my trigger-happy boyfriend a present - the Iraqi Most Wanted Playing Cards!
Hmmm.... telling fortunes with those would be interesting....

Oooohhhhh....that deck is gorgeous!
And it's out of print? Why? I want one :(

I've no idea why such a gorgeous and (for me, anyway) challenging deck is OOP. Maybe there was a problem with the production team or something?

That is wonderful, Dark_angel:-) Here's a site that has an interview with Mark Ryan in which he, in part, talks about the making of the Greenwood deck.

Why oh why don't they reissue this deck???
The Greenwood has been on my (dare to dream) wish list since I first laid eyes on it, but I am afraid I will never be able to find one (or at least not for a reasonable price).
Is there anyone we could contact about a reissue (or second printing?)...maybe we could sign a petition or something???
I know from reading the posts here that there are quite a few of us who would be very interested in purchasing this one.

Dark Angel there wouldn't have been any more of those decks at the store, would there? I bet half a dozen people HERE would buy them off you if you could lay your hands on some. (Me included).

More than a few, I would think. I have longed for this deck since I first laid eyes on it.
Congratulations on your find, Darkangel.

I hope I don't sound goofy but...
Why does everyone like it so much?
I've only ever seen 6 cards from the deck so I don't know much about it.

You can see the cards over here:

It's a very good shamanic deck. I think the Reindeer 'sold' me on this one. The art is nice, the coloring very nice, and it's one of those rare finds that actually connect very well. I believe it was self published too, making it hard to find because not all that many copies were made. They sold out pretty quickly once people 'found' the deck.

Its a great interview with Mark Ryan. I didn't know anything about him before.

PS - I've already asked Darkangel - no joy with any more decks - she got the last one - I want the book - thats nowhere to be found either - Ah well.......

Thank you HudsonGrey....What a beautiful deck.
I can't understand why no one has reissued that one!!
I'll keep my eyes open for that one.
I found my Merryday sitting on a shelf at Barnes and Noble in a very beat up box. But the cards were shrink wrapped and in perfect shape.

Actually, my daughter is at Glasgow University, she could pick one up for me....any more in stock?
Please let us know.
Thanks,
Wildwood

I'll go and double check at the store (although sending a tarotaholic into the biggest non-cyber tarot shop around is a dangerous idea!).
If I manage to get any more, I'll let you know.
It was actually the BACK of the cards that sold it to me; the images looked beautiful but I wasn't sure if I could read with them because of the amount of work they'd require, but the dude on the back showed me that anyone could learn about the cards and the history they show. It's such an organic, natural deck, and one I'm saving serious study on for the weekend, when I can just lock myself in a room and study.
Wildwood, what does your daughter study, and what year's she in? I'm in second year and study medicine (just as interesting as people say, slightly messier, and not as hard). If she likes tarot too, the shop is Karla Kinsella's on Hayburn Street. It's just off Dumbarton Road, between the Underground and Crow Road. Hey, if she does tarot, why not give her my email address and we can chat? (0206430c@student.gla.ac.uk).
Luv, Fi. x

I am starting to believe this is true. I also picked up an unopened copy at a local shop I visit several times a year. Its been there everytime I looked at the decks. Yet I never noticed it. I would always search online and in stores, until one day it 'jumped' at me. I couldn't believe it had been sitting there the entire time.
So congrats on your wonderful find!!
Blessings,
Amaya
