those evil people over at Borders Books are encouraging my tarotholicism by giving me a 20% off coupon, good for one item. I figure, most books I can get online for 30-40% off regularly, so what's this EVIL coupon good for? Tarot decks, of course. Not that I need another one, but can anyone make suggestions?
So far I have:
Sacred Circle
Secret Tarots
Cosmic Tarot
Fantastical
Art Nouveau
Adrian
Mini Universal
RW
edit: oops, forgot I have Robin Wood, too!
What would be good to help balance me out or learn more from?
Thanks!

How about Thoth?

You _must_ be kidding...of course we need another one (and another, and another...)
I got the same evil coupon, so I'll have to get to Border's & check things out. Even though I was just there last weekend for Educator's Appreciation weekend where everything was 25% off! I only bought classroom materials, so now I can check out decks and books.
Good luck in your search!

the thoth images kind of scare me for some reason, so I think maybe I'm not up to it yet, though I'll check it out again. You never know!
Was thinking maybe the Old English? Or a *gasP* Marseilles (though I'm pretty sure I'm not ready for that yet, either!) Medieval Scapini?

Hi,
OK..something a bit different:
Osho Zen Tarot
Thoth (just to have it)
Shapeshifter
OR Safe and nice:
The Connoly
Legend: The Arthurian Tarot
Personally if you don't have the Osho Zen..it's a must have..
Good luck..so many decks so little money..lol

I just got my Medieval Scapini in the mail today and, I have to say, I'm very happy with it. There are some cards that you just *feel*...like the 10 of Swords for instance.

I agree, Osho Zen is a must have.
Victoria Regina is a fascinating alternate-image deck.

if it is the Secrets by M. Nizzoli from Lo Scarabeo. The Medieval from U.S. Games seems to be a fun one, especially since there should be a book-deck kit out in May...maybe you want to wait on that and get the Secrets from Lo Scarabeo if you like a mix of modern and interesting imagery.

Hmm... I'm putting in the Herbal Tarot (good, solid correspondences), and the Tarot of Crystals and Gemstones. :)
Some of the correlations with the Gemstones deck seem a little odd until you read through the lwb, which I recommend doing at least once. :)

I'd have to throw in another vote for the Osho Zen. It's fantastic.

I'm now kind of leaning towards the Marseilles, since that and Thoth are really the only decks I might "need" for learning...
any thoughts on a Marseilles? Please?? I can also get something at B&N as I have a gift I have to exchange there!

Hi, MJ!
I note what you say about the Marseilles, but I just noticed that there don't seem to be many (if any) votes for the Fantastical and it is one of my favourite decks. At first, I didn't feel very connected to it as I felt that the characters were "strange" but I persisted in using it as my daily deck and it really came up trumps. It was the fabulous representations of all the fabrics that made me want to try with the deck: it has a really different feel, as though you could feel the texture of the materials if you just ran your hands over the cards.....
