Hello,
Well, I finally got an Egyptian Theme Deck. I had been looking for months, and thought I was well researched. But.....
I decided on the Egipcios Kier Tarot Deck, which I just got on Tuesday.
I like it, I hate it, I want to burn it, I can't wait to learn it.
This is exactly my feelings with it.
The Egipcios Kier Tarot Deck is a 78 card deck, 22 Majors, 56 Minors.
Majors are 1-21, with the Fool as 22. Then begin the Minor at 23 through 78. The numbering of the cards seem to be important for this deck does not have any Suits....i.e. no Pentacles, Swords, Wands, Cups. No pip cards, no court cards.
The is not a big visual difference between the Major and Minor Arcana as in other decks. What differences there is are slight.
On the top of the Majors there is an Egyptian hieroglyph, an alchemical symbol, a letter from a magical alphabet. On the bottom of the Majors from left to right there is the symbol of a planet, a zodiac symbol, (on 11-22 the zodiac is first with the planet symbol second...), the title of the card, a Hebrew letter, and the number of the card.
On the Minors, on the top of the cards from left to right...a Hebrew letter, an Egyptian hieroglyph, and then a letter from the magical alphabet. At the bottom of the card is the number of the card 23-78, a symbol of a planet, the title of the card, a roman letter and an Arabic number that corresponds to the magical alphabet from the top of the card.
This magical alphabet is from The key of Solomon the King, M.L. MacGregor Mathers. NY. Samuel Weiser.
Now, my predicament........
I no NADA, NOTHING, or NEXT TO NOTHING of the follow.....
Magical alphabet, numerology, Egyptian hieroglyphs, alchemical symbols, astrology and/or Hebrew letters!
So, I'm back to pulling a card and reaching for my LWB.
My Question to others who have the deck....
Is there any additional books on this deck?
How knowledgeable are you in all that extra stuff.
Oh well......it is a visually intriguing deck, but practical...I don't no.
Guess I'm back top searching for an Egyptian theme deck again.

Hi Dancer,
I bought Kier Deck like 2 years ago, and I have hardly read with it. And the few times I did it was with the help of the book. Yes, there are books about it. The one I have is the one I bought with the deck "El gran Libro del Tarot Egipcio" ("The Great Book of Egyptian Tarot") by Kheto Rigol.
I think that the most difficult to get tunned with in this Deck is that there are no minor arcanas, no suits, no elements. There is a brand new way to read tarot with this deck.
On my opinion one should know to read with another decks first, to have reading experience, and knowledge on numerology, astrology and egyptian symbols.
I particularly love Egyptian and Oriental Culture and that is why I am particularly touched by Egyptian Decks, but I must also admit that this deck is very very deep. I am still learning it. What I can say is that readings with it are very profound, intimate, spiritual and go direct to the querer's soul.
Love
Ariana
P.S. By the way, I am from Buenos Aires, the place where Kier's Egyptian Deck was created.

The Ancient Egyptian Deck by Clive Barret is a wonderful Egyptian theme deck and very readable.
