Magister Lang's Devil card
Magister Lang is affiliated with the Church of Satan, the 'central grotto' of the Satanic religion and movement in the United States that has challenged the traditional definition of religion since it's creation over 30yrs ago. It's always something I've had a lot of respect for because unlike other religious organizations they do not solitic membership, nor do they exempt themselves from taxation, and other things. They have a rational philosophy of a life embracing responsible indulgence. It encourages freeing oneself from guilt rather than placing guilt in it's followers, and pursuing your goals. It has a lot of very important ideas which are not shared by other religions. Those who are members of the Church of Satan conduct themselves as per the Satanic Bible and follow the law, and if they don't they are KICKED OUT. Wow, if only other churches could be the same!!!
I look forward to owning this deck now that I've seen a sample image of it. I heard about this a long long time ago and only now did I see a card. It is important to note that this will not be a bleak looking deck and the color in that sample image has not been added yet. The colors will apparently be very vibrant. This image appeared in a magazine about Satanism called Rule Satannia, issue #2.
In fact it should look ALOT like this! :)
Could this be the Emperor?
"I am using traditional Satanic Imagery, my own ideas and some from historical and modern sources. The meanings of each card are personal interpretations thought up by Magister Rose, Magistra DeMagis and myself are based upon the principles and philosophies of The Church Of Satan, so tradition is out the window"
-Magister Lang- (Taken from Rule Satannia issue 2 interview).
note: I am not affiliated with the Church of Satan, nor am I a member. I just thought I should share this image with you. Expect a deck that will breathe some fresh air in an art form that is misunderstood by it's practioners much more than outsiders. I'm tired of tarot readers who are not honest in their practices, and I'm tired of people telling me I am not shuffling properly.

Thanks Frequency for alerting us to this deck! As a quasi-Satanist (well one of my closest friends is a Satanist and I'd join a grotto if there were any in London :( ) I'm definitely going to be keeping my eye on this deck. Kudos to you :D

From what I understand now, when he said it won't follow traditional tarot he meant it. It might not even have the traditional number of cards. Expect something very different indeed.
As for grottos, you have to be a member of the Church of Satan to take part in them. If you want to be in a grotto, by joining the Church of Satan they will notify you of any in your area.

Will there be an accompanying book? I'd definitely love to work with a nonstandard deck, but it would be nice to have some guidance at the start :)
Pity about the grottos :( *is too Poor to join the CoS, among other things*

The current membership fee is $100USD and it will be raised, for the first time, later this month to $200USD. That does not mean you can't still join at $100USD. Information on this change is given at the Church of Satan Official Homepage in the news section. Information needed to join is also there under the affiliation section. If you cannot afford the $200USD membership price you should save up for it bit by bit until you can. Once you pay the membership fee you will never have to pay anything more to them ever again. Another thing is that this organization won't disappear any time soon so there is no rush. Personaly, I'm waiting until I can afford it aswell. I should be able to join in a few months. I'm also waiting to see things out this year to see how I deal with the changes I am facing right now. If I feel I can cope with things and I am living life as a Satanist should I will join if not I will wait or I won't join.
