thank you
Thanks to everyone who replied to my initial queries. I will take the advice given, and find another forum on which to post my questions.
I glean from what I read that I am within a community of some like-minded "readers." I don't know the designer of my deck, and have as yet to find how to discover this, and I understand, from what some of you said, that the interpretation of the card depends on the deck. This is news to me. I have been taking the card interpretation for the Rider-Waite (the most available) to be the interpretation for the cards in my possession. Quite disconcerting to realize that my "broiler-plate" interpretations may not be accurate!
I do study the symbolism of the cards, and can interpret, to a degree, what they may indicate, though I am very aware that the symbolism on my cards is different, though in some cases similar, to the Rider-Waite.
Does anyone know how I can find the designer of my deck, and who else may have one of the same? I've compared my deck to many "for sale" on this and another site, but it doesn't match any of them. Hmmm. My "found" deck must be "just for me!" : )
Being a Pisces with Aquarius Rising, and a Chinese Goat to boot, I am highly intuitive, so perhaps I can just figure it all out myself, though I do like feedback and a guide when I begin something. Actually, feedback and guidance is important all through one's endeavor to follow any path worthy of travel.
Thanks for your feedback to this point!
: )
As an aside, does anyone know how to spell "Koen" as in Zen Koen? I know what one is, and the purpose, but not how to spell it... Oh, how fledgling I am in the disciplines of life!!

Hi katfanning, perhaps you could try to describe your deck, and there may be members who can then identify it. Alternatively, if you can somehow scan some of the cards, that would make it easier to identify.
"Koan" is generally the spelling. :)

This is a site that shows 3 cards from each of many decks, listed alphebetically. Is yours there?

Yes, I agree with Lee - why don't you try describing one of the Major Arcana cards or describe the back of the cards - we'll probably be able to help - there are loads of people with loads of decks on this site :)

Katfanning,
As Lee said, koan is spelled koan… but the Chinese write it as kuan.

Right, can you give a description of the card back (color, design), and does it have borders on the cards? Are the minors illustrated or just pip cards? Can you describe in detail one of the majors? Are the titles in regular English or are they spelt funny? Are the words centered, or off to the corner? Is there a signed artist name on any of the cards, or a publisher name printed on one somewhere? Or initials on a card? Is it black & white or is the art in color? What's the approx. card size in length & height.
Someone here can recognise what you've got from a description.

I'd be curious to know how you acquired them!
