Hello,
Someone in my Tarot class has the Gilded deck and it is absolutely beautiful (in my opinion). However, the cards feel very thin to me. Are they thinner than other decks or maybe not as heavily laminated ?
I'm debating getting the deck but worry that they will not hold up as well as the sturdier decks.
Thank you :)

As far as I can tell, the cards are the same good quality cardstock used for all Llewellyn decks.

I've not got the deck, but someone else here commented on the thinness of the card stock.

The Gilded is one of my favorite decks, and gets a lot of use. The card stock is the one thing that dissapointed me about the deck when I first took it out of the box. The card stock does seem to be much more flimsey than other decks, including those from Llewellan, that I've used.
However, after extensive use, they still are like new. So I guess the card stock is deceptively thin. Those little cards can take a beating and keep on ticking.
Hope this helps. It's a great deck. I'd say go for it. :)

I was surprised by the card stock too.
But my deck has been heavily used and they are holding up very well.
I wouldn't be worried about purchasing it.
I think it will give you years of use.

Honestly, I didn't really noticed any difference , card thickness wise, with the Osho Zen I have. Mmm I will have to look at both again.

Thank you all very much for your help :).
I didn't mean anything negative about the cards /quality of the cards - they just felt thinner to me.
I thank each of you for taking the time to respond.
Now I just have to decide on a new deck...decisions, decisions.

I had this deck for a short while and I don't remember the card stock being flimsy. I remember the overall quality of the deck to be quite good. I am sure that if looked after, they will be fine.
Hope that helps.

Edited to add:
All the same, I think there is something charming about a well loved and well worn deck - what better compliment to the creator
