I'm trying to decide between the Goddess Tarot and the Goddess Oracle. Does anyone have experience with both? I'd love to hear any reviews/ comparisons.
Thank you! Maria

I own the Goddess Tarot, and have only seen the Goddess Oracle, but for me I was disappointed by the Tarot. The Major Arcana were very nice, but the Minors were boring, clone-like, and not Goddess-oriented at all. I felt as though the deities being portrayed were somehow cheapened...
But the Goddess Oracle doesn't have Minor Arcana, and every image seems to express the individual deities beautifully, without trying to squeeze them into a Tarot mould (if you know what I mean.)
BUt I do know of many people who love the Goddess Tarot, so this is only one opinion. :D

I have both the Goddess Tarot and Goddess Oracle. The GT I never had any luck with doing readings, and although the artwork is okay, its not something that makes you say "Wow!" The GO is another story. I took it to a women's group the other night and we all drew a card. It was so dead on, some of the lady's were freaking out. The artwork is GORGEOUS, and the book that accompanies the deck is great. I highly recommend the GO over the GT.
Many Blessings,

They are both gorgeous. I'd recommend getting the Goddess Oracle (I've even bought prints from Hrana Janto's website to hang on my wall, and she has several that aren't included in the deck). The Goddess Tarot also has some wonderful cards, and the suit of pentacles is just lovely. The card of Venus is nearly worth the price of the deck. But if you just want the goddess pictures, you may prefer her children's book about Goddesses, which has larger images of the goddesses in the deck and few who aren't included. But both decks are beautiful.

I have the Goddess Oracle; it's the only oracle deck I have and use - it's lovely and the book that goes with it is a very good read.
From what I've seem of the Goddess Tarot is seems to be RWS based - I don't like those borders so I've never bothered with it.
Love

I know exactly what you mean. I've seen a few decks, mostly just online, that seem like they would be better as oracles, but then I'm into the more traditional approaches- for now, anyway.
So it sounds like the Goddess Oracle is winning! I'm not the type to have a million decks, but I think it would be nice to have an alternative to the Universal Waite for times when I'm feeling more womanly!
Thanks for the responses, Maria

I turned the majors of the Goddess Tarot into a table top using an old coffee table, painted gold (to balance the energies), glued the goddesses into place and used clear gloss over the top. Looks good. As a reading deck, it was a complete bust ... as a table top ... it is unique and attractive (when you can see it ... it is usually covered in books and stuff LOL).
I'm not into oracles so I can't comment, but I have just been looking at images of the Triple Goddess deck. Don't know what it would be like to read with, but the art work absolutely grabbed me. Will I buy it? Absolutely. Will I read with it? Don't know. Will it provide me with a extra coffee table? Hope not. I'm already tripping over things that I have created in moments of wandish passion.

For the review (which I haven't read!): http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/triple-goddess/review.shtml
All depends on what you are looking for in a deck!

I have both and have worked with both. They both seem to work well for me and I have even just started using them with each other. I do a spread with the GT and use the GO for clarifying cards seems to work really well that way. Both have great artwork but the minors of the GT are a bit bland.

What a great idea mythos! I found a sample deck in our local metaphysical shop, and I love the major arcana, but, like some people suggested, the minors didn't seem quite right. It swayed me toward the Oracle instead- for now. Thank you all for your imput!
