Hello everyone. Today I was talking to my inner child Joe, and I wondered, "Hey. I wonder if anyone else here has an inner child. This IS Aeclectic!" So here's my question. Do you have an inner child, and if so, what's his/her name?

zorya  09 Jun 2002
of course i do! i've had her for years, but i'm just getting to know her! she has my birth name. (i changed my name years ago).

what's your birth name, if i may ask?

jade  09 Jun 2002
everyone has an innerchild whether or not they cherish and pamper their child is another thing! LOL personally i feel that you having contact with yours at your age is wonderful, magical and very amazing! most adults spend years trying to get in touch with theirs and yet you are already there! congrats to you chunky!

i too changed my name but my inner child goes by the name i had when i was little LOL

i choose not to share her name though (for personal reasons).

in light,
jade

sorry chunkypuffs, i prefer not to share her name. i agree with jade that it is wonderful that you are in touch with yours already!

thanks. one of my friends showed me how to talk to Joe.

Synchroicity is alive and well!

I was gonna post somethng along the lines of this thread... My inner child came rampaging out of me today, on a walk this evening with my boyfriend... She (My inner child...) saw the play park, jumped on the swings, and spent the next half hour on them... Then she found the slides, then the roundabouts, then the seesaws... And poor Simon (My boyf) had to put up with pushing the roundabout for her and being on the other end of the seesaw...

Its amazing how free you feel when you're way up high on a swing, with the wind rushing though yor hair and your stomch being left somewhere up in your throat!

Kiama

PS- My Inner Child's name is exactly the same as mine, cuz she's not really a distinct person anymore... She used to be, but we've learned to live together and love each other, so she's now Kim/Kiama...

What is an Inner Child??? I've heard of them in the metaphorical sense, but I've never known anyone to communicate with their own inner child before.

Houklani, who really needs an education in all things mystical :D

An inner child is a child that lives inside of you. you can communicate with your's by invisioning white light and a positive symbol. Once you've done thta, you can ask them what they've learned from the angels. When you are done, tell them: "Go learn and play with the angels! Bye."

NOTE: This is my inner child ritual. Other rituals may vary.

Kiama  10 Jun 2002
Chunkys right: Inner Child rituals and was of speaking with them differ from person to person... For me, my communication with my Inner Child is not verbal, but more physical... There's nothing my Inner Child likes better than playing. And Glastonbury. }) So, when the Inner Child inside me surfaces, I have to play, and this not only makes her feel happy and better, but also makes me feel happy and better. (Although very embarrassed sometimes!) I learn alot from experiencing what my Inner Child enjoys!

i guess i just never grew up. i am my inner child-- i think. i race through deparment stores with shopping carts (amazingly enough, i've never hit anyone-- or gotten thrown out of the store for acting 'childish' LOL) i can 't resist playgrounds (i still jump off the swings when they're high enough) and i don't censure my behavior-- though i am usually well-behaved.
perhaps there is a 'separate' child in me-- i guess i never feel the gears shifting :)

You and me both, Steve! Good to know I'm not the only one...! :D

Diana: Yes, I think that means there's an "inner adult" in there somewhere, but SHE doesn't get out much...! :D

LOL steve! I think this is just a different perspective of an inner child. I view it this way too though.

My Inner adult sounds exactly like my Mum! She is always nagging people, and is far too practical for her own good... Sometimes she shines through just a little too much for comfort, although she comes in handy when we're in tight situations.. She's always the first to suggest a solution, or be resourceful! But that nagging is one of my worst features. (Malachite can vouch for this!) ))

having fun is one way to get in touch with your inner child (those things you loved to do as a child). other important ways are; acknowledging that your inner child still exists. recognizing when your inner child is speaking for example, how many of those painful patterns/emotional reactions, are rooted in some inner child hurt?. and perhaps most important, nurturing her/him.

slinky_jo  10 Jun 2002
I think I have an "inner evil-twin"!!! She's nasty and rude and quite mean to me sometimes! I try to get her to shut up, but she's a feisty little thing! :D

PS - yes, I am another "childish" person - my younger sister gets embarrassed by me quite often!!! And my partner won't take me to the Easter Show anymore, as all I wanna do is eat lotsa junk food then throw it up after going on all the rides ten billion times! FUN!!!! hee hee! :)

I found my inner child again today! um... and yesterday... and the day before... and the day before... and... well... you get the point. :D

A big rain came through today and my inner child took me puddlejumping. For those of you who haven't done this, you find the biggest, messiest puddle of water and mud and icky gunk you can possibly find and jump and throw rocks and squish around, etc. until there's nothing left of the puddle but a hole. Of course, since all the water and mud has to go SOMEwhere, it ends up on the juumper. :D}):D

this is lots of fun, ehh!

Kiama  13 Jun 2002
I have to agree with Chunky and Cricket: Jumping in muddy puddles is SOOO much fun! My inner child loves these, when my inner-adult will let her, but she also really enjoys finger painting, playing with her food, and playing those really cool playground games whch kids play... Games like Polo, Hot Chocolate, What's The Time Mr Wolf, Red Letter Day, Granny Steps, etc...

Don't forget Red Rover, Duck duck goose, ring round the rosey, skipping rope games, hopscotch... drawing on sidewalk with chalk (which is a real trick because there aren't any sidewalks for miles *L*), making paper airplanes, cutting out snowflakes and paper dolls....

Sam  14 Jun 2002
...playing ball, catch, skateboarding, jump rope, running aimlessly at anything...

i LOVE to play in the dirt!
