reiki attunements and children

my little one, who is three, got her second - 1st degree attunement the other day. i gave her the first one over a year ago and my student (who is now a reiki m/t) sent her one the other night. what a beautiful experience it was to hold her sleeping in my arms as the reiki poured into her. she slept for 2 hours after the attunement and then when she woke she put her 'reiki hands' (as she calls them) on me and WOW i couldn't believe the energy pumping out of her! children are such a clear channel and i feel that it is such a gift to them to grow up with reiki in their lives. my 8 year old has his 1st degree also and is asking for his second degree, although i am more apt to re-attune him to 1st degree again before he takes on his second. i feel that a maturity level needs to be there for second. (just my personal opinon though) and my 15 year old has her 2nd degree. i only wish that i had received my reiki attunements as a child................but everything happens when it is the right time :) love and light, jade edited to add: i forgot to mention.........i had her re-attuned because she has been going thru a hard time with our move. although she loves our new home she was not eating, not sleeping and seeming quite depressed. major temper tantrums which were out of character, well, the frequency was out of character LOL.......... so i felt that a re-attunement would assist her in healing her pain and loss. it seems to have assisted her greatly! :D:D:D:D thanks be to reiki, blessed be. so mote it be. :D

That's really great Jade! I wish I had gotten into contact with reiki when I was a child, or at least a lot earlier than I did, I think it would have helped me a lot.

I just have to say this, it doesn't really apply to JUST this thread, but to all the reiki threads we've had lately; you Jade, and all other reiki-initiates speaking of reiki here sure make it sound wonderful! I really want to take a level 1 course this fall, I'm just so afraid that I'll end up confused and feeling nothing, not "getting" it... Now that I have such high expectations of it... I can't help wishing someone had told me about this (and initiated me) when I was a child, when all this "emotional junk" wasn't in the way...! :) Jade, thanks for sharing - I loved to read this post, it made me a lot more determined, and a bit less worried about it! :) Jenny :)

Jenny: just try it. I was rather skeptic about it when I started my level 1 course, and I was also worried that I wouldn't "get" it, but I definitely did!! :) I'm sure you will "get" it too, just go for it, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! :)

Did you go for a treatment, and take it from there, or did you hear about it and go for learning first? I forst got interested when I started hearing people calling it a way of life, rather than "just" a method of healing - I think that's what I like, the idea if it being a bit of both. I would love to learn to "live healing". Thanks for the encouragement! Jenny :)

I heard about it from a friend. She is even more of a skeptic than I am ;), so when I heard how enthusiastic she was about it, I knew it had to be great. When I started the course, I had never had a reiki treatment myself, so I didn't really know what to expect. I just went there thinking: I've got no idea what I'm going to do here, but I know it's going to be great! ;)

And exactly what does happen the first time you get a Reiki Attunement???? I am probably going to go once I get into University.

you feel lots of energy or sometimes you see visions or sometimes you just sit there, but afterwards your hands never feel the same again. :D don't be afraid, it's beautiful and gentle and loving and kind. there is no way for you 'not' to get it. there's nothing to get. it just flows. it's not like learning to see auras when you might struggle trying to see..........it just......is. you place your hands on yourself or another and then energy just flows and you feel it and you are amazed at the feelings. :D my children even feel it. when i reiki them they say, "thanks mom" cause they feel it channelling into them. :D love and light, jade ps last night my 3 year old wanted to participate in our spellwork for solstice. so she did a prosperity spell with us. she likes to do affirmations during her spellwork so she was a little parrot and repeated everything i said. then i would tell her it was time to stare at the flame of the candle, 3 seconds later she'd say, "okay done, now what do i say?" she's sooooo sweet. :D

I felt it most in my hands. They got really heavy, and turned bright red. My attunement was done by a member here, SkyDancer1111, and she told me that my hands were harder to accept the reiki energy, but they finally did. I think the redness was my hand chakras finally opening. She also said that she saw the arcangel Raphael appear and lend some energy to me. She said that this was a rare thing to happen.

Sky did it over distance. I still don't understand the whole 21 day cleansing thing. Could you explain it a little more???? Thanks! She also said that when she was doing the attunement, the Archangel Raphael appeared and added some of his energy to me. She said that it is rare for him to appear.

i suggest you check with skydancer to see if she wants you to do the cleansing. some veins of reiki do and some don't. i certainly wouldn't want to step on any toes. :( in light, jade :D

Here's some more reiki experience I'd like to share... ;) This morning I had to go to the dentist for a root canal. I wasn't really worried about it, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to use some reiki for the situation. ;) First of all: the whole procedure was completely painless, so that was good. But best of all: the dentist had two sessions planned for the procedure, a half hour session today and a full hour session next week. Guess what: it went so well he was able to complete the whole procedure in today's half hour and I don't need to go back next week! He also warned me that my tooth would be very sore after the anaesthetic would wear off; the anaesthetic has worn off by now, but I hardly feel a thing... :)
