I'm curious how many here have a feeling of oneness with nature during certain periods.
For example, fall for me just touches me, it reminds me of times past, a certain nip or wind in the air.
I also have a strong feeling of oneness with storms, lightening, wind, rain, like a type uncontrolable wildness that makes me wish to dance out in it. I've always thought of this as a pagan side of me, or wiccan trait.
Anyway, just wished to throw the question out.
Blessings, love and light,
Kismet

I have always felt most at home in the natural world in late October and November.
The trees are down, but there are still some leaves about, on the ground, dried, no longer coloured, but greyish and black, and blowing in the wind. I like the grey sky and the shorter daylight. I like to see the bare limbs of the trees pointing towards Heaven with accusing fingers. 'Tain't Spring: this is the time to see Paris.
More importantly, it's always that clarity in the air that comes after the first true freeze. It affects me physically; it clears the lingering gunk of Summer out of my head. The chill in the air makes me think more clearly. I only feel truly alive when I can see my breath in front of me.
I ain't even a Pagan.

I've always felt attracted to winter.
I love the way snow glistens under the sun.
I love the cold, too; I've always been more at home in cold weather than in hot, and the colder it is outside, the better it feels to come back home into the warm :)
And despite the fact that the short hours of sunlight are a bit of a downer, I'm thankful for the darkness of winter, too. After seeing my first Scandinavian winter, with the sun rising at about 10am and going back under the horizon at 3pm, I've learned to really appreciate the sunlight (and the long, long hours of summer sun you get up north :)).

There's nothing like standing on a cliff along the Northern California coast when a Pacific storm rolls in. The wind howling, the sea crashing below, the rain stinging your face as you smell the salt and ozone in the air.
Except maybe standing on a mountain in the Sierra's when the same storm smacks into them. The lightning flashing, the wind howling and there's that ozone smell again.
Let's you feel Nature's power and know that you're ALIVE! I LOVE IT!

i agree with you all, this is a good topic ! I love nature very very deeply--love the wildness, the power, the awesomeness of it all.I am like Petunen, i love winter, |i live in scotland where we get long winters up here in the hills; short days in winter, long nights in summer. i love the feeling in winter that everything is sleeping, gathering strength for the next year....

I love the fall and spring the very best!
In the spring when everything is rising and laughing at the sun...
In the fall when it starts to get cool and really nice "snuggling" weather...

Yes me too, I love storms and the "wildness" side of nature, I guess that I relate this to the side of me that likes to get "wild" every once in a while.:D
I like the Autumn/Winter season. This may sound strange, but I find that I am more "myself" in these months, and I really don't have an explanation for it, only that the warmer weather is nice, but I really hate the heat so I guess I am more relaxed in the cooler times.
Cheers

I love winter, well usually when I don't have school, because I don't like waking up before the sun and walking home in blowing snow. But if it's sunny and there isn't much wind, then I usually feel at peace. Everything seems dormant at that time, calm yet alive. I know it sounds weird, but I feel as though we wake up during winter. When the birds leave, and the animals sleep, that's when little children come out and play. I see kids play outside during winter more often than I do during summer.

I have moved this thread to the Spirituality forum, because I feel it is better suited here.
BTW, I love storms, particularly ones with lots of lightning. My energy levels go through the roof, and I feel that this is the best time for spells, particularly ones for removing obstacles, or evoking dragons of chaos.

Halloween (Of Course!) and the first *real* snowfall of the season. Of course around here its hard to tell which will come first. I remember the night I met my husband at a Halloween party, we went outside, in out costumes and made snow pumpkins (or would they be called Snow-o-lanterns?). Granted it doesn't happen often but the first snowfall can be in October around here.
One of my old Literature profs in college used to equate snowflakes as the hands of departed spirits finding a way to touch earth. I never got that feeling out of my soul.

Hello,
I definitely favor cold weather- summer is really a drag for me even though I live near some absolutely beautiful beaches. I love overcast, drizzly days that chill you to the bone, my mind just feels more alive- the kind of weather we get up here in late November. And the quiet stillness you can experience going for a walk after a blizzard, when the snow absorbs all the sounds and covers all the colors- if a snow drift settles a block away you can hear it. There's so much to love about Autumn and Winter. I'm looking forward to some good storms this season.

How beautiful. I don't think I'll look at snow fall the same way again.
I love the fall, thunderstoms in Oklahoma, and the feel of the wind on my face. These are the times when I feel most connected to the God and Goddess.
Blessings.

I also love storms, autumn when it is dry and a hazy sunlight out in the early morning, but I also feel my heart sing in summer.
