"Haunted"

Did anyone here see the new show on UPN, "Haunted"? It stars Matthew Fox (Party of Five). i just wondered what anyone else's reaction was to it. it seemed very like the tv show that was based on the story of James Van Praagh's life. i can't really tell if it is going to go well. it was moderately interesting - i'm interested in anything ghosty - but they didn't really define or show any spiritual significance to his hearing from the dead. i know he is on a mission to help people, but it sort of left me unsure about how the season would be. anyone else see it or have an opinion?

I watched it and I have a wait and see attitude so far. It could be pretty good, but you're right....they didn't explain the reasoning behind the hauntings to well. I usually LOVE shows like that, but this one kind of creeped me out. I don't jump at bumps in the night. I don't get scared to walk into the basement. But after I watched the show I was jumping at every noise! Which I didn't do even after watching the movie "The Sixth Sense" -- GREAT movie by the way IMO LOL Anyway I'm reserving judgement on "Haunted" for now. See how it evolves.

I thought the actor did a nice job of trying to deal with what he's going through. Good, meaty emotional stuff! I liked him! I don't think he has a strong enough supporting cast, though. I'm wondering if they're taking the "why" of what's happening to him slowly, to keep people watching the show. I'm thinking they'll try to get a certain amount of good old-fashioned action into each episode, and if there's time left, they might get more philosophical and spiritual. I'll keep watching, too, as long as it doesn't go off the air! Peace, Melvis :TSTRE

Someone I know started talking about The Sixth Sense in comparison to it & I completely spaced on the movie with Bruce Willis, I was thinking of the Gary Collins tv show of the same name. Anyone remember that? I'm not sure if they'll keep this one going strong, but I think it has more going for it than the other new show John Doe. They gave John Doe too many powers for the series to be challenged, but hey, there's only been 2 episodes so far, I could be wrong.

i was much more interested in this week's episode, and felt it dealt more strongly with the purpose some ghosts have in remaining around and communicating with others. i may start to really like this show if it keeps on this style.

I thought this week's show was very well done. The song was very effectively used, and it kinda freaked me out the way the ghost kept saying, "Wake up!" Very nice ending, too. I like this show! Peace, Melvis :TSTRE

I tried very hard to watch last night's show, because I really need to find at least one tv show I can be interested in now that X-Files is gone. But, the murdered girl, her friends , & the whole situation was not interesting to me at all- I finally gave up. There seemed to be nothing particularly interesting about the main character either! (By contrast, the made for tv Van Praagh movie was excellent!) Maybe it's just me- jaded & unimpressable for the moment. Tarotphelia

Tarotphelia, try renting Jacobs Ladder from Blockbuster, that'll give you some chills. Very good & the final 30 seconds changes the entire movie. Also, all 3 of the Prophecy movies (Christopher Walken plays the Angel Gabriel). Dark, and weird. But watch them in sequence. I think you'll like those.
