Wow! Now THAT is an interesting find! Can you imagine the hubbub that will cause? I'd love to be at that religious conference in Toronto if the burial box goes there, and hear all the arguments among the religious scholars at that Convention!
I just love archaeological controversy! And throw the basis of the Christian religion into the mix, too! What a combo! Speculation based on conjecture about an artifact or two and argued about at the top of one's lungs...cool! :D
Peace,

Indeed! I just read it on CNN ^-^ What a wonderful find, and the collector had no idea. The inscription was discovered by accident. Sure there might've been a lot of Josephs with sons, whose names are James and Jesus.. but why would a burial stone be inscribed with the name of the brother as well, if he wasn't significant? ^-^ Okay, i know everything's not for certain... but even just the thought is awe inspiring that we have found something with an actual link.
And... I never knew Jesus had a brother! LOL ^-^

I heard it on the news tonight too, but first thing I thought was 'two of those three names are really common, like Tom and Mary are today). The article says the name Jesus was a common name too (that's a surprise to me! But then at the other end of the spectrum I know he didn't have a unique to him kind of name.)
Yeah, there's no way to prove it's the three people we think of when we hear those names. Could be total coincidence, there's no way of telling.
Now if they can get DNA samples out of that thing ......................... Hmmm
