My Dante Tarot arrived today. It seemed only fitting to reread his texts since it has been many years and I recall nothing about the three books of the Divine Comedy. I'll start with "Inferno." I haven't read this since I've been more involved in spiritual matters (many years now) and will have a fresh view of the material. I have heard rumors here and there that there is quite a bit of material of spiritual merit in these books.
Another book I have ready to read is a version of the Egyptian Book of the Dead. "Awakening Osiris" by Normandi Ellis. This book, I know, describes the afterlife processes, as it relates to the soul set of the Egyptian soul. I have read some about this book in the works, and related works to the works of Rudolf Steiner.
I wonder if Dante's works are similar at all? Is this trilogy describing the spiritual worlds, or aspects of them, as well?
Anybody compare Dante to the Book of the Dead?
