Where to begin... ;)
I have fibromyalgia, a rheumatic (sp) disease which cause pain in the joints etcetera, and too little sleep. For the past few months, I haven't been able to fall asleep at a decent time. It seems that fibro-patients lack a certain phase of sleep which is important for resting your body. Always tired, 24/7. Always needed a nap in the afternoon (I'm 18!). Quit school, because I always fell asleep during classes (I'm studying at home now).
Now to the point of this post. After a year of being single (following a 2 1/2 year, disastrous relationship), last week I got a boyfriend. He's sweet, caring, loving, and he's in for a serious relationship. Last week, he spent almost every waking free minute with me, even if it means cycling to the rain from his house to mine for only half an hour together. He makes me feel special. He makes me happy.
Now, a few days ago I realised something... I fell asleep almost as soon as I touched my pillow! I woke up refreshed! I didn't need a nap! I didn't have pain for a couple of days! I can do whatever I want again! Now, I know that the fibro isn't healed, the pain is still there, I'm still more tired than I should be at my age. But still, isn't it wonderful? Has any of you ever experienced the healing powers of love and happiness?
I believe I'm rambling terribly, but I just had to share this. ;)
Love and luck (which seem to be coming my way...),

Athara--I am very interested in your post, as I also suffer from fibromyalgia and can relate to your story. Although I'm not currently in a relationship, I am now motivated to be! I am truly happy for you. (p.s. can you send some of your lucky mojo my way? (lol) :)

In many 'Tibetan' and Chinese healing sciences/practices, love is an outstanding factor. Mantak Chia, Awaken Healing Light of the Tao , teaches the practice of Inner Smile, which sends love and joy to all of our organs.
Have you practiced meditation? You have experienced movement of chi within your body, an opening of your heart chakra. Mediatation could be a tool you can use to expand that heart chakra energy to your body, especially your joints, powerful centers of mini-chakras!
I utilize meditation for back pain. I also 'move' chi through my meridians to keep my body cells invigorated and healthy. I find that meditation is wonderful.
You also may want to consider Yoga classes or Tai chi to help you learn the art of moving your chi.
So this blessing of relationship has offered a lovely avenue of discovery! wuhoo!!
May the Blessings continue!!! - skytwig :)

Ain't love grand?
It survives health problems, distance, the passage of time and even death.
It is the glue that binds us together, and the foundation of our society.

Haha, thanks all! LittleNeptune, I'll be sure to send some mojo your way... I've got enough now, and I know how much you'll need it...
And skytwig, I'll go and find out more about that. I did discover that meditation helps, but I didn't know specifically how or what. I did know that the mind can control the body, and I've worked with that knowledge, but nothing helped like this... :D
