A wart?

I do apologize

This is probably the most bizarre question I've asked but I'm totally thrown off by it and I don't know where else to get some answer

I have this male friend, we ocassionaly go out, and we have some weird connection . A couple of weeks ago we were out and he touches my arm right underneath my shoulder and says "ohh you moisturize .. that's nice" I just thought it was a pretty weird comment and forgot about it. Until less than 48 hours later when I realised I was getting a wart at the exact same spot.

Just to clear it up, I've never felt the slightest negative vibe from this guy. I'm just a bit, well, freaked out about this.

Can anyone help out here? even if it's just to tell me that I'm crazy please...

Belladonna  12 Jul 2003
Indigo Lady, hi. Weird. But I think we should all be used to that by now! Just wanted to tell you I'd feel the same way.

You say you never felt any negative vibes from him, but... you did use the same adjective- weird- to describe your connection to him. Can you elaborate? What do you really feel about him? Come on, be honest!

Does he always come out with weird comments? Or touch you, casually, that way?

Maybe it would be helpful if you described him more.

Don't worry about it too much, it could be worse!

zorya  12 Jul 2003
a person could transmit a wart, but i think you would have to have an open wound on that spot? even something small like a bug bite would be enough. maybe someone else might know more about that.

does he have any warts on his hands?

if not, i don't think i would move very quickly with him....

have you asked the cards?

DarkElectric  12 Jul 2003
OH MY!
You may want to hold off on kissing him, he may be exhibiting signs of " Handsome Prince Reversal Syndrome", which states that a kiss will turn him BACK into a frog...

Just kidding:)

Seriously, though, here's an odd question. When he touched you, he touched your skin, right? I know this sounds whacked, but, if he had warts developing on his hands anyway, and if you guys were sweating, there is a possibility that he could have transmitted this common, soil borne virus to you. Warts are contageous, and viral in nature. There are times when human to human transfer can occur. Sweat, unwashed hands, or wrong place, wrong time in the development phase of the wart can cause this to happen. I got warts on my hand from holding hands with my high school BF, who was working on a farm, and was less than scrupulous about handwashing. He got warts from the soil, and I got warts from him! Anyway, we both got them cleared up. But the dermatologist told me they can be transmitted. Human Papilloma Virus is another (but more ghastly) example of human to human wart transmission.

weird as in.. well.. not that anything with me has ever been normal.
But in this case weird meaning more like an odd connection, like when you meet someone and as they say the universe has been plotting for you to run into this person and meet them (too many coincidence random events) , though in this case I take it more as in something that we both had to experience, not necessarily the whole soul mates story and so on...
Weird in the sense that we have a very strong connection, very sensitive to each other and our feelings without talking or knowing about them,
And yes he is always weird too, and comes up with weird attitudes and is quite erratic, as far as my understanding goes..
:-p

I hope I made some sense

I've never seen a wart on him, ever. I didn't know you could get warts that way, but seriously I've never seen one.. and honestly, it's not like this is the first time we've had some sort of physical contact.

I just asked the cards, basically what's up with that wart
3 card spread , issue-obstacle-outcome

VIII Strength
0 Fool
8 Wands

it doesn't look that nice to me...

Belladonna  12 Jul 2003
Strength- I think that little wart is there to offend you, insult you, provoke you, enrage you, EMPOWER you! What does it make you want to do? Really- I mean deep down, what was your first reaction?

The Fool- As obstacle? Are you not doing what you really want to do in terms of your relationship with this man because it's risky? Unconventional? Out of character? What other people may think? Because it leads down a road you suspect may take many twists and turns, one that you did not previously imagine?

8 of Wands- Woo Hoo! I love this card! I know many people think of it as "the other shoe dropping" card, but I've always seen it as "Divine intervention." Or as you say, coincidence.

What were your impressions?

bluestar  12 Jul 2003
Hi! I don't know if this will help, but I was told by someone that warts are little expressions of hate.
I wouldn't mention it but I find it to be true for me - I occasionally get one on my hand and it is when I'm under pressure and have given into a extra negative belief of some sort, on some level.
And this could of course not ring true for you at all, which is fine, and I wish you luck figuring all the weirdnesses out!

HudsonGray  12 Jul 2003
I dunno about the 'hate' part, but when a body is under stress, viruses can come to the fore. Look at when cold sores start popping up! The immune system has to work harder when a person is stressed out, so I don't doubt that things can show up at those times.

Indigo_lady  14 Jul 2003
Belladona,

The wart I just find repulsive, but it has gone by now... I'm kind of obsessive about anything on my skin and spend every minute of the day trying to take away anything that I think should not be there...

So I don't deal very well with warts, especially when they freak me out.

That's an odd way of seeing the Fool, I would have never interpreted it like that myself, but surprisingly enough that is exactly the nature of more than half the problems

I prefer "divine intervention" though, I don't really believe in coincidences

;)

DarkElectric  14 Jul 2003
I'm weird for this, I admit, but some of the guys I know... Well, I make em wash their hands before they touch me at all.

I guess that makes me OCDE :joke:

RainbowFire  14 Jul 2003
just a small question...
how do you get rid of warts??? I have two on my fingers, they've been there for months!! So how do I make them go?

HudsonGray  14 Jul 2003
There's a wart removal cream you put on them and over time they do go away - the pharmacy should have it.

If you have those really tiny ones, you can try pulling them out (yeah gross, but it worked on both of mine) with the tip of a needle. I got the root out (came out like a carrot, very tiny though) and they never came back. I'm so used to stabbing myself with needles from hand sewing, I just looked at it like removing a splinter. But I wouldn't try that on the larger ones.

Some doctors freeze them off, but I hear those are the foot warts, mostly.

truthsayer  14 Jul 2003
i have a wart on my right hand. i've been told that it's a plantar's and can only be gotten out with a special treatment. i had it froze off a few years ago but it came back. i've cut it off and dug it out like a splinter and it still came back. so i've decided this isn't a normal wart. it's so small i probably won't do anything else to it unless it grows.

zorya  14 Jul 2003
you are probably not going to believe this

.... duct tape.

edited to add a 'must read' link about it; http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/10/14/health/main525523.shtml

Belladonna  15 Jul 2003
Zorya, I was just about to respond that I'd recently read an article in Prevention magazine about the duct tape method!

This is what they recommend: Cut out a tiny circle of it just big enough to cover the wart, leave it on for 6 days (replacing it when it falls off) On the 7th day, remove the tape, soak it in warm water for 10 minutes and rub off the dead skin with a pumice stone. They say to repeat this for 2 months until it's completely gone.

bluestar  16 Jul 2003
Try colloidal silver
It got rid of an ingrown one on my foot which had previously been frozen 3 times to no avail!

zorya  16 Jul 2003
i think the wart removal question deserves a thread of it's own :D so... in 24 hours, i will be splitting this thread and moving the 'wart removal' part of it to the chat forum.
