HI. I asked the deck (Spiral), "Who am I today?"
and while I was shuffling, the Three of Cups HURLED ITSELF AT ME. So what is it supposed to mean?????
Bye the way, if these three ladies dancing with goblets raised in toast mean "good times, joy, friendship and celebration" as the book says, I am ROFLMAO because instead of celebrating and drinking with friends, I spent (am still spending) New Years Eve and New Years Day hiding under the bed with my dog (even though I don't have a dog) because of all the horrible firecrackers that still haven't let up!!!
--- or maybe its a friendly reminder not to wish to kill the horrid boy children with their love of banging things and to see it as a celebratory expression instead of as an oppressive, violent, destructive, threatening act of war........
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

Well, you know how tricksy these cards can be at times .....perhaps they were telling you what you SHOULD have been doing today ??!! Happy new year !

Yes, I think they were giving you advice!
I like this card, it's usually one of the most beautiful in any deck. To me, it's the "belly dance card" because I just see the women as belly dancers dancing together, expressing their beauty and strength. My own little twisted take on it...
Try and relax! Have a happy new year!

Hi, Firemaiden!
Yes, I agree with DeLani and Samantha: the advice is to go and find some friends to celebrate with - hiding under the bed (with or without your virtual dog) is not allowed! So come on out now and head off to see what's going on out there: who knows what you might find.....

Get out from under that bed and go LIGHT some firecrackers!!
anyway-
for future reference, the 3 Cups card also can signify 'healing', so if it comes up in a reading for someone 'ill', it can indicate people rejoycing that the illness has passed.

ummmm. sorry. there is NO WAY I am getting out from under this bed, first of all, I don't know anyone in Berlin, and second of all it is TOTALLY FREEZING. I was sort of hoping you all would say, the point of the card is, one imaginary dog is not enough. I need also an imaginary CAT, they we will be three and have a ball.
NO but seriously, thank you all for your wonderful input, perhaps I will pour a drink and call my mum.

I too would like to hear other potential meanings of the 3 of Cups. I always manage to get the 3 of Cups reversed in overall love readings. Yeesh. What does this say about me? ;) Eh well, at least it's fixable.
