Now, this could be the wrong forum, so I apologise, LOL, but i was incredibly struck with this link:
http://users.erols.com/nbeach/eleusis.html.
The particularly pertinent bit starts after the first picture, under the heading: PARTICIPANTS
Also: http://www.descentofthegoddess.com/mythology/demeter.html
Bearing in mind the actual myth my mind is going:
Homer - Fool/Travelling storyteller
Zeus - Magician/Instigator
Hades - Emperor/Brother } Duality
Dermeter - Empress/Sister } Duality
HP and Hierophant speak for themselves in the Eleusininan mystes/Sacred Marriage ... seen that mentioned elsewhere
Hades on his - Chariot/Self Purpose
Persephone - (Inner)Strength
Later on ... Helios - Sun/Brother} again Duality
Hecate - Moon/Sister} again Duality
Judgement - Rheia/Great Mother
World - Dermeter brings seasons back/World returns
Is there a deck that covers this myth? I'd like to get to know it.
Ok, mind wandering over, LOL
A.

hi,
thank you for the links, allibee, i think they are very interesting.
 I don't think there's a deck that covers this single myth, although that could be interesting...
other decks that cover greek mythology are - as all you tarotfreaks know - the mythic tarot, olympus tarot and tarot mythologico (sp?) (and who knows, maybe one day the deck I'm making!) but there aren't any references to the eleusinian mystery religion... sorry!

check out brian williams, renaissance tarot. the coins depict the myth of demeter, persephone and hades.
they are very beautiful too, so you may want to add them to your collection ;)
