Now , on first glance I notice what separates these two cards
rather than what unites them .
So ....can anyone come up with similarities between the two ?
I guess they could both be accused of being egotistical.......tho'
the fallout from this is quantitatively different.
And , perhaps related to this is an inflexibility...tho' one springs from emotional ideals , and the other intellectual standpoints.
And that's all that I can come up with ......
I pulled this card (Emperor) today when asking what I should do about a contract I have been given . I am not happy with it , and the other side do not appear to be willing to negotiate .
When I saw it I thought , ok , the advice is to stand firm.
Pulled another card for clarification : the knight cups.
If this is the "outcome" card then maybe the knight stands for
some proposition being made (and in my favour I'm hoping).......but outcome was not really what I had in mind when I was asking for the "clarification" .
If nobody can find any direct link / similarity between these two cards , then maybe I should take them to mean advice/outcome
rather than two "advice" cards.

is that the emperor is looking at you telling you, you already know what you should be doing. Your wanting confirmation on a decision you already made. why? The knight of cups is saying that your emotions can't stand still, they have to keep moving. Something about what you have already decided to do upsets you GREATLY. Perhaps it's saying, you have already made your decision, but you don't approve of your own decision, looking for confirmation while battling your mixed emotions internally. As well as, looking for emotional confirmation. What ever this is about, it effects you greatly, and is hindering all other aspects of your life (I can feel it) as if relationships, family, everything is put on hold. I believe this to be a confirmation (that you were looking for) of saying stand your ground, and push those emotions to the side as best as you can.
Hope this makes some sense and brings a little clarity to you.
Peace to your soul friend!

An almost religious faith in themselves and their cause is what unites them. The Emperor has religious faith in himself and how he's organized his kingdom. He's knows what he's doing, damn it! The Knight is following his LOVE, his heart, and nothing will lead him astray. Both are movement and success oriented, even if the Emperor is seated--he wants to move pieces around on the chess board--and win. The Knight, like all Knights, is on a quest, and determined to succeed. Both will die rather than surrender.
So here's another way of looking at those cards: too much passion (fiery Emperor), too much emotion (watery Knight) invested in your side of things. There MIGHT be a way out of this stalemate, a third answer, if you're willing to use your cool head instead of listening to the fiery, angry, passionate Emperor, or the watery, emotional, devoted Knight.
Try taking a look into other options. A win or total surrender might not be the only ways out of this. Just a thought. Also, have you tried shuffling again and/or going for another clarification card?

Sagitarian ,
I'm not sure . Until I sign the contract , I haven't made any
decision ?!! I am still looking at other jobs ..........(although
they don't know that ) so I don't feel committed (and maybe this is the problem !!)
At the moment I'm not so upset (honest !) just pi**ed off that they are giving me the run around , and trying to negotiate a
contract that will ensure I do not have any regrets !! And trying to work out how this can best be achieved......so stressed/frustrated .....ok ! Upset !!
"I believe this to be a confirmation of saying "stand your ground" , and push those emotions to the side as best you can."
I think what you are picking up here is my need to push doubts/worries (real or imagined!) to one side .? If I let them get out of control then they will
sway my judgement negatively ? I was told recently that I need to harness my "male" energy in this situation.........
I was hoping that the cards would give me some advice about how to approach the negotiating table , but maybe they are
giving me an overview instead .
Thanks for your thoughts .....and yes, I think I do need some
peace !

Thirteen : I did a previous draw on this issue , and got
9 wands , with 4 wands as clarification. At the time I thought
this was another advise/outcome situation.
Sorry , I'm exhausted and will have to go to bed. I'll look at what
you said more carefully tomorrow.

Then I agree with you! The cards are telling you you're almost there, stand your ground--be the Emperor; don't move from that throne! Remind them that you're the one dictating terms here, not them.
I'm assuming that the 4/wands (and Knight/Cups) are indicating the foundation of work you've already done--strong enough, or devoted enough, to trust in, rely on, and build upon.
