I recently found a link on the boards to a Wiccan card draw for yes/no questions that was totally intriguing so I gave it a shot. It worked so well for me it was a bit startling....the cards that came up were so clear and specific to the questions that I would draw a quick breath and just stare at them for a while. I have to admit I got a little slaphappy after that.....I was so excited I kept asking questions and I noticed the cards became unclear...although they did repeat themselves.....a series of Kings....which were confusing for me to interpret considering the question....they were also all reversed. I think I got the point though. My last question was okay, I think I've got the point, have I over done it on the questions for tonight? The response....Ace of Swords, which I took to mean clarity, as in yes! At which point I stopped. Obviously one can overdo, which I already knew in the back of my mind so maybe this just applies toward me, but if not anyone have any ideas on why? Why so crystal clear to begin with and then an abrupt end to that? Just curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks

I can have the same thing happening to me, so you're definitely not alone in this.
Perhaps it's partly because when we start, we have spent a while concentrating on asking the question, gazing into the cards to glean their meanings, and then as we ask more, we spend less time on each card, or if we spend the same time, perhaps we spend it in a different way, so the meaning becomes confused in our minds. There is only so much information our brains can process at a time, so maybe doing lots of readings in a short space of time can overload the relevant parts?
When this happens to me, I just shuffle the deck thoroughly, not thinking of any question, and put them away for the night. Usually I'm able to read them clearly again the next afternoon.

Dark Angel,
Thanks for your reply. The reassurance was sweet. I was playing around a bit more today, and noticed that when my readings become unclear is when I begin to ask variants of the same question(essentially searching for the same answer from a different angle) over and over again........... second guessing my intuition rather than just trusting it. I find if I simply allow myself to trust and remain open and accepting my readings are remarkably clear. I also find the questions must be truthful and honest....something I truly want to know and not just "any ole question". Today at first my readings were muddy(I was in another enviornment too.....I took my cards to work to spend time with them when I have nothing to do)but the moment I became truthful and relevant with myself bingo the cards were right there with me no holds barred. I noticed this last night too. I asked four questions in a row and recieved very specific answers to those questions......then things began to get muddy......as soon as I got real with myself again so did the cards. The Ace showed up. I just had to smile. I love that feeling.

Many around here, including myself, see tarot as a tool for your intuition, a conduit, if you will for your deeper understandings. When you repeat a question, in some ways you are doubting your own intuition. Intuitions don't do well when doubted. Many with poor intuitive skills are this way because they don't trust that "little voice inside" and thus the little voice gets weaker and weaker.
I would suggest that, rather than doing a re-reading of an inquiry, you go deeper and study or meditate on the cards you drew more intensely, see if you can pick up more subtle nuances to what you have already before you.

Oh Khatruman,
That makes so much sense! I knew there was something that didn't feel good about it. Thanks for the clarity!! And excellent advice.....it feels right for me. Thank you, EAB.

I've had a similar experience. A couple nights ago, I was reading the cards asking about a dilemna I had. I did two readings, asking two different questions about how to handle the same situation, and both times I got very clear, concise readings. But then I decided to do a third reading, to make sure that it was in fact the right course of action, and the cards didn't apply whatsoever.
I took it as saying that I had been told all I needed to know, and quit for the night.
