Onto the final four in our examination of the symbolism of the Majors. What you like and what you don't. What you feel ought to be there...or not.
For this thread, Judgement. Just answer one or more of the following:
1) What elements from any Judgement card from any deck do you feel BEST symbolize Judgement? (Example: "I love the angel blowing his trumpet.")
2) What elements common to most Judgement cards in most decks do you really feel are all WRONG for Judgement? (Example: "I've NEVER liked that angel and his trumpet.")
3) What symbol have you always felt was right for the Judgement Card, but you've yet to see it? (Example: "I'd like to see a devil playing a saxaphone.").
You don't have to answer all the above, but do offer some "why's?" as to what you answer. Why don't you/do you like the Angel and his trumpet? What does that symbol in the Judgement mean that it feels/doesn't feel like the Judgement card to you?

1. I am delighted with the revived, awakened people--the woman, child and man symbolizing the different aspects of humanity. I like, but consider secondary the Biblical cloud-break clearing to a blast resonating from a celestial, clarion call.
2. I think what I dislike is when I see modern adoptions that do not touch on elements of the above symbology. I am very attached to the allegorical symbols and if I do not see some human elements of revival or rebirth, or a situation of awakening, I don't quite know how to interpret the design. For instance, if you just have tombs and cemetary symbols and there's no sign of growth or awakening or life, I don't see it as the card symbolizing "Last Judgment or Resurrection" leading into the World card. I need to see an 'awakening' element.
3. There was a fun element of storytelling in the Alba Dorata where an elf maiden is blowing a long horn and as she walks, small Hidden Folk awaken out of their holes. It looks and seems similar to what I like. I'd like to see a scene where it shows something modern so that a person who feels like they are undergoing an enlightened moment of resurrection, revival, perhaps when some musical call is sounded...
Thanks for the question, Thirteen!

I'd like to see a Judgment with the devil playing a kazoo!
No, but really, I see it as the aha/eureka! card so it's good to include a trumpet or such sounding a clarion/wakeup call, and having some people or such in the process of awakening and moving to a higher level of being.
