i am a newbie in tarot. I did not practise reversals till now partly because the tarot i bought do not show meanings of reversals.
i know that it depends on situations for the meanings of the reversed cards. But can anyone post a brief meaning of the reversed cards? i need a reference to start with. I would truly value any assistance.

Anubis,
There is a sticky near the top of this section "How to read..."
The third post contains links to many of the previous threads on reversals. Here's a link to the sticky

The book Tarot Reversals by Mary Greer is a good source that gives several different ways to look at them.

Excellent advice here Anubis. The threads mentioned (and the web site that Aun linked to are very good. I just have to second the motion for getting Mary K. Greer's book "The Complete Book of Tarot Reversals" mentioned by Lady Medusa. Ms. Greer not only does an excellent job of covering reversed meaning, but gives a lot of new insight to the "upright" meanings of the cards as well. Ms. Greer does use the Rider-Waite Tarot in this book.

Mary K. Greer is highly and deservedly respected, and many
remember when she was firmly against reversals. The same
goes for Rachel Pollack, who used to simply draw another card!

Evolution in progress--a wonderful thing!
