Hi folks -
I have only been reading since January and so far i have found the tarot to be a really good, positive force in my life. I started doing Cletic Cross readings to answer yes/no questions such as "will I have a romantic/sexula realtionship with X?" or "Will I get the job I interviewed for today ?" and have found that the answers were a bit fuzzy. However, when I do a more specific spread like a coming love interest spread or a horseshoe, I find the answers to be more clear.
What type of question is the Celtic Cross good for ? Is it better for a general readings ? Any insights you can give would be much appreciated.
BTW, I use the Universal Waite deck.
Thanks.

The Celtic Cross - tried and true as it is - has too much information when you need a simple answer to a simple question. It has lots of Past in it, and has three different types of Future in it - Way too much information! LOL!
Small spreads with 3 - 5 cards will provide you with short answers to short questions. you might want to check out "Power Tarot" by MacGregor & Vega which has 100 different kinds of spreads for all occasions. I like the "Wheel Spread" with 5 cards the best- tells you about influences running through your life.
Asking a simple question such as 'How will my day go?' does not need 4 cards telling you about yesterday - it's over.

Tarotbear is spot on. The CC is overkill for yes/no questions of the type you're asking. Try here for some fresh and more apt spreads:

And, of course, check out the spread section of the forum:

Most especially the Tarot Spread Forum Index at the top.
For yes/no questions it's best to keep small, no more than three or four cards. One card will usually suffice come to that. And/or you can always make up your own particular yes/no spread for such questions. Enjoy!
