I'm hoping someone can help me here .
Is it possible to get a 'specific' match between an astrological sign and a
minor pip ? I'm thinking of the 2 wands here . I know that wands are linked to the fire signs ( so leo , aries or sagittarius ) and that the court cards can be assigned to such , but what about the others ?
I was thinking 2nd December ( Sagittarius) for 2 wands ...but this is probably wrong ! All thoughts welcome !

Each suit has been correlated in different ways (or not at all) to the four elements by different individuals. So the suit of Batons or Wands is correlated by some to Air, by others Fire, etc.
Those that follow a more GD-type orientation tend to place the pips (excluding the Aces) around the zodiacal wheel, numbering each ten degrees of the circle from 2-9, 2-9, etc. creating four lots of 2-9, each then said to correspond to the suit with which the sign in front of which the number elementally corresponds.
The first 10 degrees of Aries therefore is made to correspond with the two of the suit correlated with the element of Fire - which in your case, given your post, would be Batons/Wands.
Please note that this is NOT universally agreed upon, and personally prefer to make no such imposed correlations that Tarot, in itself, does not seem to hold in its essential 'being'.
