The High Priestess

Ok, so a few days ago I laid out some cards for a fiend who's having problems with her love life - and as the outcome ( I used Celtic Cross - position 10) i get the high Priestess.
I wasn't very sure what to day - I always had trouble understanding this particular card!-:)
Any suggestions???

Maybe this means your friend should go with her intuition - her gut feeling. This card can mean that you have the answers yourself, you just need to look inside for them. It's a kind of introspective card, telling you to go with your instincts and let your heart rule your head - for the time being at least.

When the High Priestess represents a person in a spread, it is usually your mother or another matriarchal figure in your life.

I hope this helps a little.

In some instances, the High Priestess can represent a period of "unknowing"--much like the MOON. Both cards represent the feminine: intuition, inner wisdom, etcetera. But sometimes this can point to having an undeterminable outcome--at least for the time.

The HP has been labeled, at times, The Veil. Maybe your friend needs to find out more information before she makes any major decisions about her relationships.

I don't know why, but for some reason with this card in relationship readings I always get the feeling:

"thats for me to know and you to find out"

So listen, be alert for 'odd' messages, trust emotion, trust intuition because at this point the answers are not obvious.

Although I agree with previous entries on this board that suggest that the HP generally shows intuition or inner voice, in a relationship reading A. E. Waite might have hit the nail on the head with this divinatory meaning: "2. THE HIGH PRIESTESS- Secrets, mystery, the future as yet unrevealed; the woman who interests the Querent, if male; the Querent herself, if female; silence, tenacity; mystery, wisdom, science. Reversed: Passion, moral or physical ardour, conceit, surface knowledge."

Thank you - you kind of put a little more light on that card.
I told my quarrent that to to understand her relationship position at the moment she needs to trust her inner guide and let her heart lead the way - it's all up to her now.
Do you think that's right?

I think that is what I would have said too.
