Do you think there is any connection between these two cards ?
I'm trying to come up with links between the two . I noticed how both cards form triangles. In the Hierophant it is created in the positioning of the figures , and in the 3 pentacles in the arches above the stonemasons head.
The only other link I saw came from juggling some key words .
3 Pents : established
The Hierophant : establishment
Can "3" link to "5" ? How and why ?
Edited to add : I know these cards can be about networking / joining forces to get something accomplished , but it's the triangle that is nagging away at me ! I think there is more to it than I can see.

Hi Samantha,
Can "3" link to "5" ? How and why ? The 3 link to 5 in the sense they both are a transition & development phase that leads to growth. In the 3 i see it more like a physical & material expansion, while in the 5 is more spiritual & mental.
Shared aspects of the Hierophant & 3 Pentacles: working together, sharing knowledge and plans, a sense of community, making something that is suposed to last in the future.
About the triangle shape... i don't know.

Maybe it has to do with getting the 'point'. The purpose of the cards. The craftsman and his patrons also form a triangle, of sorts.

Hi!! There was a time when 3 of pents and the Hierophant kept popping out together, in my readings all the time...and in my readings they both indicated a coming proposal-offer- which was waiting to be "blessed" - "accepted" by the other party so that the other(s) could move on with the work or idea or relationship etc....I sometimes see the two figures as two options and sometimes 2 people might be involved in the situation (as companions or rivals) but for me both cards at some point might indicate that there will be a shifting of the position after the choice is made.
And i haven't seen it myself yet, but some friends say that these cards also might mean 3-way relationship and one has to decide between the two people so that again s/he may go on with life..love triangle? i don't know..So with these two cards i see it like that..there's a 3 of pents situation which needs to be resolved; and it will be done by the 5 hierophant usually with a big important decision which will change the position of the client usually for the better...I see the 5's usually as struggle and transition...and 3's as expansion and growth..and so the 3's could easily lead to 5's..growth can be harsh sometimes leading you to confusion...and it may be hard to establish a 4 along the way..I don't know..that's what i came up with in my readings.. :)

Inana : " ( 3 pent and Hierophant as ) making something that is supposed
to last in the future "
This is a good way of looking at these cards . I like your umbrella
word of 'growth' . I think this is partly what they were trying to
tell me ! Thanks for that Inana .
Cascade : " Getting to the point / getting the point " : This is an
interesting take on the triangle ! You are right , the cards sometimes speak
to me via word play too.
Al Si'ra : " growth can be harsh sometimes , leading you to confusion and
it may be hard to establish a 4 along the way "
That's really well said ! * takes hat off* . It is most definately true in
itself . This morning ( on the point of spontaneously conbusting ) I asked " What would my higher self have me do now ? " Pulled 4 wands ! Hmm.
