This is not a question as it is an interesting experience with tarot that I came across last night and wanted to share.
I recently hurt my foot and believed it to be just a sprain. Long story short, after a couple of days from the time of injury, my foot began to feel worse instead of better. I made an appointment to see a specialist, but in the meantime was hoping I didn't break any bones.
I asked tarot a very simple question: What is wrong with my foot? I received the 3 of Swords (Hanson-Roberts). Immediately, of course, my impression was, "Crap, it's broken??" I didn't want to believe it but what do you think of when you normally see the 3 of Swords? Heart "break," right? But I didn't like this answer laugh. So I asked another way: What's wrong with my foot? This time, I used the Druidcraft deck (one of my favorites!) and the Queen of Pentacles came up. Now, one would almost believe that the cards are saying I'm just fine and dandy as the Queen. But what intuitively caught my attention was the Queen of Pentacles' foot on a rock...and the next thing, the fact that she's holding a bone (and beating a drum with it). That foot on the rock - bare foot no less - and her holding a bone didn't paint a very cozy picture suddenly. I even went so far as to ask, how do I improve my situation with my foot? I drew Druidcraft's Page of Wands. At first I thought, what the hell! I can't even walk! And then my eye caught the "Wand"...which actually looks like/is a walking cane, isn't it? Yep, a cane to get around to "improve" my situation!
Anyhow, today I was told by the specialist that I have a stress fracture (3 of Swords) due to impact (Queen beating a drum with a bone) in my toe and that I need to use support/cane (Page of Wands) to get around. Ha ha. I had to laugh. Of course, tarot would be right this time!
Thought this real-life illustration would show other ways the cards can "speak" to the reader.
