Piatnik Oracle Deck - Help identify?

Laura Borealis

I found this deck at an estate sale and wasn't sure of the age. Does anywhere here recognize it or know anything about it?

It was stored with a couple of tarocchi decks.

Sadly, Google image search couldn't pinpoint this deck.

They're really beautiful cards :) Nice find.

Oh they are Deuces/twos! I was wondering--thanks for that :)

I have this deck.

It's a Jednohlave deck by Piatnik.
It's for playing Marias, national game of the Czech Republic/Slovakia.

It's a nice game deck and inexpensive too. A, 7-10, under and over knaves, and kings of each suit (hearts, bells, acorns, leaves).

Can be used for a lot of other 32 card games as well.

I got mine here: http://www.tarobearslair.com/austrian-cards-with-german-suits.aspx

my deck has much more modern backs than your deck, so I have no idea how old your deck might be.

You're welcome!

It is a good site. I've placed more orders there over the past year than I care to admit to myself. Me and denial go way back!

Guys, this is so much good info, I really appreciate it! Thank you for all of the useful links. I'm trying to decide whether to buy the deck or not, so I will post them up once I have them.

I'm glad to know that they were meant for playing cards, and it makes sense given where they found them along with some old tarocchi decks that I am more familiar with.

There is so much cool history here, I am really grateful for all the help.
