The GD's Fire Wand is seen as fitting Philosophus by the GD,
Is it? The construction of elemental weapons was an G.D. Adeptus Minor task.

But it's use accompanied by the sign of the philosophus. My interpretation was the grade was the introduction to the elemental energies, then the construction of the weapon was a sign of it's mastery. But I think maybe that perception is colored by some of the "self-initiation" versions that have the tools created progressively. *shrugs*

Oops, I thought you meant Crowley had written something specific on portable magick, I was curious about the reference. :)

Hmmm, there might be a reference to it somewhere, I remember him mentioning his portible travelling kit. The main one I am thinking of is the star sapphire (?) ring used in the desert. (see The Vision and the Voice).

I'm sure Aeon can site any ref to it ... I thought it was in Confessions?

Very interesting topic. I am curious about what everyone thinks about the Sword point down on the Liber T decks' Ace of Swords? I find some of the symbolism in that deck "wrong", that ace is just one example.
But, then again, what do I know? ;)
