Yes, great choice! I was thinking about Moon Garden - I think it may be a bit difficult for a child to learn the meanings of some of the cards because they're so similar, wands especially. Now I've just got to drag out my Whimsical...

ETA: I trimmed the white borders off mine to make it easier for smaller hands. Perfect.

That's the deck my nephew fell in love with when he was 8, and it got him interested both in Tarot and in Greek myths. It was my daily deck for a long time, so it was natural he got to see it. Eventually he got to know and love other decks, both on mythic themes and on other themes (he loves the Tarot of Prague). He's 13 now and still enjoys the cards.
