Journey Into Egypt and Tabula Mundi. That's more than enough to keep me occupied for a year! Who'd a thought it, me, a minimalist!
I think I'd go for a wide variety of decks that would see me through my quirks of mood and different reading needs.
the thing is, I'd rather just take one and get to know it really, really well again.
For years I just had one, the Rider-Waite, and it didn't matter. It has layer upon layer.
then I had the Thoth, and spent huge amounts of time (years!) being a Thoth devotee.
Don't get me wrong, I love the diverse interpretations of the Tarot.
But choosing 5 for a mere year wouldn't bother me in the slightest.
This afternoon, if I suddenly had to pack my carpet bag, I'd be taking
Liber T of the Stars Eternal
Gypsy Palace
Le Tarot Noir
Navigators of the Mystic SEA
Bohemian Gothic
The Rider Waite & Thoth I love so much are absent because I can see them with my eyes closed. Similarly my other favourites, the Aquarian, the Sacred Rose and the Vertigo. The 4 above (besides the Tarot Noir) I feel I still need to explore more.
Le Tarot Noir comes along because ...well, just because!
Pagan cats
PCS Centennial (I want a Waite Smith and it's the best one, in my book)
Thoth
De La Rea (stunningly beautiful and TdM enough to cover that side of things)
....and I shall take my time over the fifth,
