Card of the Day 4/27/04 - Sacred Circle - 10 of Discs

10 shiny Discs are formed in a triangle in a steep mountain valley verdant with lush grasses. Rooks circle overhead with a grey sky in the background.

It's funny that this card means tradition since this weekend I'm going on a birding field trip in the NC Mountains where we're celebrating the 20th year of the gathering.

28 April - 4 of Discs - Materialism

I have missed a day but am posting again.

My card for today is the 4 of Discs - Materialism, which did not make much sense to me this morning when I drew it as I usually am not over materialistic and live within my means - work: money comes in - bills: money goes out.

However I just got news that I have had a small windfall, back pay of maintenance that I have been waiting for the last year - which I will hang on to and it will be good to put into my son's education fund for later on or a rainy day!

April 28th - 3 and 6 of Swords.

Hi,

Came home from work today and shuffled for my card of the day - the 6 of swords.

I didn't know how to relate it to my day until now when i've just realised that i actually pulled a card this morning before going to work - the 3 of swords so was expecting a bit of an argument/discord at work.

That didn't materialise so that must be what the 6 of swords relates to - unless it means that because of expecting the discord, i altered my behaviour so that solace - calming the waters so to speak.

Card of the Day 4/28/04 - Sacred Circle - The Sun

Old Sol shines brightly down on a flowering meadow while Bees, the Saints of Nature, pollinate the flowers of St John's Wort. It is the Summer Solstice and the Sun is at it's full power.

St John's Wort grows all over the SC/NC Mountains in Midsummer, even the rare Buckley's St John's Wort. It will be just turning Spring at the higher elevations when I go there this weekend. I shall be grateful for the bright parts of my life that the Sun is illuminating today.

Card of the Day 4/29/04 - Sacred Circle - Page of Discs

Another card that I drew the other day. Late Winter to Early Spring is the time of this card. In the higher elevations of the mountains (I'm going tomorrow) it's still early Spring and late Winter. Sometimes I just follow Spring up the Mountain.

Proably won't post tomorrow since I'll be out of town. Everyone have a nice weekend.

1 May - 8 of Wands - Action

I have been a bit busy the past few days and have missed posting my daily card, but have still been drawing them.

The card I drew this morning is the 8 of Wands - Action, which I was not surprised to see at all as today will be a very busy day, packing to go away for the long weekend and then off we go - driving and then on to the boat!

So I am looking forward to a fun and interesting time away on the island, with lots of activities and socialising (and hopefully a bit of rest time as well! )

Interestingly read in the book:
The arrows may indicate that a message or a letter arrives that will call for a quick response, perhaps necessitating a journey."

This weekend away is a reward prize for our work on a being a very successful year and we were only notified by email not long ago of the planned trip

So I will not be able to post for a couple of days (no computer for two days!! - will I survive) LOL - see you all when I get back.

Hi,

The card must have a message for me but i'm still unable to figure out what it meant.

Despite shuffling well on the 30th - the card still came out - wonder what card i will get today?

Card of the Day 5/3/04 - Sacred Circle - 4 of Swords

Four swords stand upright with daisies in the foreground. Seem more for ceremony than conflict. I've had some rough physical times lately and rest is what I surely need. Have had to put off some plans to take care of myself. At work there's talk of layoffs. Need to rest from worrying about that also. I did update my resume though.

4 May - 8 of Cups - Abandonment

My card this morning was the 8 of Cups - Abandonment. I have pondered on this card today and it seems to relate for me to being able to "let go" of certain things and not be so worried about getting everything done all of the time.
