Best deck for studying past lives?

Bluebird

Hi guys,

I have a deep interest in studying past lives and have come across some interesting spreads which I would like to look at. At the moment I just have the RWS deck, but am wondering if some decks are more suitable than others for this purpose. I have recently seen one of the community members using the Osho Zen tarot for a fab spread developed by Lawguy, so I am wondering if I should get this

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Joss

So, bear in mind that I love my Osho Zen. However. Honestly? I think that you're best served by a deck that you already "click" with.
If you want to get the Osho Zen and learn it, then feel free! I just don't think that readers are required to have dedicated decks for certain topics.

Thank you AnemoneRosie,

Appreciate your feedback, which really sounds fair enough. I had noticed how some people were picking specific decks for specific types of questions and was just wondering... But I see from what you have said that it could be just it's just down to personal preference rather than perceived suitability.

Many thanks for your advice.

I think if I were reading on past lives, I would choose a deck that featured people and faces a great deal - like, for example, Kat Black's Touchstone Tarot, or the Hidden Realms deck, which features close ups on fairy people faces and illustrates feelings and characters. I think that would give me more of an idea about who I was and how I lived.

But I also think the choice of decks for specific questions is a personal one :) I tend to chose which deck to use based on what my question is actually about. Many people here seem to do that. I think the Zen is pretty readily available, and not expensive. If you feel it would help you read on that subject, then go for it!

Thank you Padma,

I really like what you said about decks which feature people and faces - that makes a lot of sense. I will check out the decks you mentioned. Appreciate the links too.

Thanks a million

The Touchstone is only available at Tarot Garden if you are looking for it, it's no longer being published but they still have some left.

The Hidden Realm is available at Amazon, I think. :) There are other decks that might work in that way too, and feature more up to date people and situations, like John Holland's Psychic tarot oracle. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/psychic/

I inherited a copy of the Halloween Tarot from a friend of mine. I was just playing with it once, and two cards gave me a whole long story of the multiple-life connection of that person and me, past and future. And I wasn't even trying!

So it works brilliantly, even when you;re not planning a past-life reading.

Hi Padma,

I had a look at the cards you recommended. The touchstone tarot has a lovely renaissance theme to it and the expressions and characteristics of the people are very clear - making it ideal in my mind for intuitive reading, which is very much the route I want to go down. The Tarot of the Forgotten Realm really clicked with me I have to say - again the expressions are super clear and I love the ethereal quality to it. I also looked at the Psychic Tarot it has great imagery - for e'g the image of the face which is half-man, half lion is very striking. I am going to look further into the Tarot of the Forgotten Realm - the theme of the images doesn't dominate (for me) as much as the Touchstone Tarot and their expressions are amazing.

Thank you so much for your time and advice Padma,

I really appreciate it

The Symbolon cards.

Hi there,

I had never heard of the Symbolon Cards before, but just had a look at a website which gave an interesting free reading. I am going to a Psychic Fair next week and I am going to look more into these - thank you so much,

Joss
