Intuitive Oracle Exchange, December 2010 with Chaska …
Using my brand new (today!) Oracle of Shadows & Light
Card 1 (at the top) Be True to your word. This will guard me against gossip.
Pink Lotus Fairy
A beautiful, winged being sits atop a huge lotus flower. Her hands rest on her knees, with thumb and forefingers forming a circle. Her eyes are halfway closed, as if in meditation. Her forehead has a red dot in the center, and there is a dark, starry sky behind her and the numerous, dark lily pads that surround her. She is lit, while the rest of the card is in shadow. I feel that this being is telling you to look within to your deepest, highest self. That the best way to remain true to your word is to remain true to yourself. Always listen to your own inner voices. If they are out of synch with you, look to see where you might not be fully genuine in your relationships. Carry your inner spirit with you at all times, and consult it when needed. Meditate, pray, dream … whatever works for you to get in touch with your own truth. As long as you stay true to your highest, lightest self, you will be seen clearly and be less prone to gossip against you.
Card 2 (middle right) Nothing is personal. This will help me rise over the negative thinking of others.
Sea Storm
I see a sultry being in a stormy ocean. Her eyes are slightly hooded, with a calm expression that seems almost neutral. There is the tiniest of sneers, though, with a warning to remain calm. That the lightening and crashing waves cannot harm you as long as you are centered. As long as you trust yourself. Trust your own powers of intuition, insight, and clarity. As long as you can stay true to your spirit and your truth, your ability to float will carry you through. Looking at the question here, I’m also thinking that you easily float on that ocean, while the negative thoughts of others sinks below the waves, never to be seen again.
Card 3 (at the bottom) Don't assume anything. This will help me to communicate effectively.
Candy Cane Angel
A sad faced being holds a candy cane in one hand, while the other hand reaches beyond the frame. Her wings are framed in candy, and her blond hair is decorated with red and white mints. She is a sad little angel, with a red and white striped dress. I want to reach into the frame and give her a hug and some M&Ms. Perhaps the assumption you’re being asked to make is to think the best of others. That if you are assuming malice on the other person’s part, walk a mile in their shoes and see if you can imagine an alternate explanation. Treat others with sweetness, and instead of reacting, or lashing out, offer them a candy. Perhaps they’re just having a bad day, and need to be understood. And lest you forget, sweetness is not weakness. This little angel looks all sweetness and light, but she packs a powerful message that things are not always what they seem. You sometimes have to look beyond the bright wrapper to see what‘s truly going on.
Card 4 (middle left) All we can do is try our best. This will help me put my best foot forward.
Grumpy Red Fairy
This little being is all wreathed about in a cloud of black and red hair and wings. She looks out at the viewer, disgusted by what she sees. She seems to look right through me, daring me to be anything but who I am. This being doesn’t stand for nonsense. She puts her feelings out there, and expects to be understood. She reminds us that we cannot hold ourselves back, we cannot hold our feelings in, we cannot be less than who we truly are. The way to put your best foot forward is to put your truest foot forward.
In summary …
I see these angels and fairies as telling you that you need to be totally and genuinely yourself. That to do otherwise is to pay too high a price. That’s not to say that you need to be mean or unkind. On the contrary, the Candy Cane Angel urges a sweet approach. But one can be kind, and still be honest, open, and clear about your needs.
I have to say that I love these cards. I have no clue how this will resonate for you, being my first reading with them, but it sure was fun to visit with these delightfully blunt beings.
