Very interesting look at that card I love to hear how others view it and see if I can understand or see the same thing.
For me the Nine is about being independent, confident. She has it, she is happy to be alone or to be with someone, it doesn't matter. She is confident and independent enough to be whoever she wants.
I don't know what card I would associate a kept woman with really. Now a mistress, if you are taling kept woman in that sense, for me seems to fall with the Queen of Pentacles for some reason.
And speaking of the eight of pentacles above, that to me was always about learning something new, updating your skills to keep up with the changing world.
