. There's a thread (or threads) worth reading, called, collectively, "The Process", by Umbrae. Do a search - it's a good read. One of them describes his way of breaking in his cards - basically scraping them over a table edge across all their axes - horizontally, vertically, diagonally, on both faces.
Otherwise, endless shuffling. When you're watching tv, shuffle. That's a great way to a) wear the lamination down a bit, and b) really tick your housemates off
