Piatnik Gypsy Decks

Sword King

This thread will serve as a focal point for the overall study of the following Piatnik decks:

Biedermeier Aufschlagkarten (36 cards)
Zigeuner Wahrsageketen (36 cards)
Art Deco Fortune Telling Cards (52 cards)

The first two decks (spare me from re-typing all the German :p) are identical in terms of card titles, but the artwork and historical perspective is different. The Art Deco deck contains a core of cards identical to the other two, but also has an additional 16 cards with a more 'modern' perspective. My rough stab at dating (based on art and subject matter) puts the first deck at around 1870, the second around 1900 and the third around 1930. The picture below shows the boxes and a sample of the art style of each deck.

There are resources online if you know where to look. I use Seaqueen's keyword page as a starting point/lwb for these decks: http://seaqueen.wordpress.com/2008/08/14/art-deco-fortune-telling-cards/

Kapherus/Cardseer maintains a cartomancy page the features sample Zigeuner Wahrsageketen readings: http://cartomancy.wordpress.com/category/other-oracle-cards/gipsy-fortune-telling-cards/

There are more that I will update as time allows!
