Little Baron
Here are my personal thoughts for the suit of diamonds.
Ace of Diamonds
This is a card of partnership.
I say 'partnership' and not necessarily 'lovers', because the '10 of Hearts' signifies that already - true love that is not platonic.
This relationship is not specific but it speaks of people coming together.
Maybe business partners or useful and reliable contacts.
It may be the marriage of two families.
The merging of two companies.
Of course, lovers are not excluded, but rather than describing love, I feel that the card talks of the physical joining of two people or groups - so marriage or a wedding is not out of the question, depending on surrounding cards.
With the card of 'sexual attraction' with it, I imagine that this could also signify the sexual act in it's bluntest and most raw form.
Two of Diamonds
This card is a whisper. A secret. Something is held within and not shared.
Do you have a secret? I think most of us have one or two tucked away.
If it is not your secret, you may feel suspicious that somebody else is hiding something from you.
Why does your wife always seem to be whispering in corners with your best mate? What are they talking about? Is something going on?
Why does your husband keep changing the subject when you mention your birthday? Has he got a surprise party planned?
At it's lowest, I think the card has a tendancy to be sneaky. It is possible that you do not trust someone close to you.
In other threads, I have spoken about my mother. My mother is one of the loveliest people you could meet. One of the kindest and sweetest. But out of feeling down and a little lonely, at one point, she turned to drinking for comfort. We are not talking about the hard stuff or a vast quantity. But it was enough for her to hide it from me and my father.
Things seem to have sorted out now (fingers crossed), but there is always that level of suspicion still in me that I find hard to shake. Sometimes I will sneak into the kitchen quietly when she doesn't know I am there. Not because I want to catch her out, but because if she was having a 'sly' one on the quiet to make herself feel better, I would rather know than believe that all is fine and dandy when it is not. So for me, this card is a mixture of both sides of the scenario - her hiding and keeping secrets, and me and my dad being suspicious about her doing so, whether she is or not.
Three of Diamonds
The third diamond in this card is like a spanner in the works. It disturbs domestic bliss by bringing conflict and strife with it.
My ex and I were forever having petty arguments. One after another. Some were minor and stupid, others would be more extreme.
But as we found out, you cannot live like that. Eventually, the petty differences become too much to cope with.
This card also makes me think about times when I have fallen out with friends, foolishly. Usually over something stupid. Actually, always over something stupid.
Neither friend backs down, and if you let it, this disturbance to your friendship can actually kill it. Through silly pride, what was a minor disagreement has turned into the loss of a great mate. This card may be saying 'Get in touch with them', 'make contact', 'apologise for your part of the fall out before things get out of hand'. I have nearly lost friends in the past down to other people's meddling. The best thing I could do was get in touch with them directly and say my piece. I think this card suggests this.
In general, it acknowledges that things are said in the heat of the moment. But it searches for a way to make peace. There is already enough arguments, battles and wars in the world.
Four of Diamonds
Lies. Downright dirty lies. There is no surpose about it. It is not just a suspicion. Someone lied. Someone did the dirty. The truth is out.
Your boyfriend cheated with the girl from the chip shop.
Your best mate told the guy you fancy that you are not interested, because she is and wanted him for herself.
You forged a cheque.
You cheated in an exam.
You told your mother you were going to a friend's house, when really you were spending the night with your boyfriend while his parents were away.
Your mate doesn't take your side, but that of your worst enemy.
In the last example, it is the part of the card that symbolises betrayal. A real knife in the back and through your friendship.
Another aspect of this card is revenge. Do you want to get back at that girl from the chipshop for sleeping with your man?
I imagine that surrounding cards will be able to detect whether it is a simple lie that has been told or whether you are out to get someone for what they have done - the '5 of Spades' (anger) may be a natural accompliment.
Five of Diamonds
I look at the five blinking diamonds as a news flash.
This card symbolises news.
You will hear something.
Information is on it's way - by mouth, phone, email, letter or some other source that you can receive from.
Six of Diamonds
A relationship exists here.
I think this card is as simple as that. It is just confirming that one does.
If cards of secrecy and lies are in a trio with this one, it is plausible that your partner may be lying and cheating.
Seven of Diamonds
Usually, we think of scandal as something you see on the front of a tabloid newspaper.
"Pop starlet in three-in-a-bed hotel sex romp"
"Tv Stevie's cocaine shame"
"Football star is gay .. says mystery boyfriend".
But not all scandals are as dramatic as that. It may be a minor embarrassment. You may have kissed someone you shouldn't have, said something under the influence of alcohol that you regret the next morning or a detail from the past may come back to haunt you.
This card does not necessarily tell us that the scandal is correct, however. Not all tabloid headlines are true, as we all know, so it brings with it a whole lot of gossip and idle chit-chat. What you hear may not always be correct. What you suspect may very often be false. Have you joined 'all the dots' or is it just speculation? Where is your proof?
The only problem with this card is that you cannot change things, however much you might like. If it is you that has been tarred with gossip and scandal, there is very little you can do to prove otherwise. Just look at Heather Mills McCartney and the prostitution and soft-core porn slirs. Mud sticks, I am affraid.
Eight of Diamonds
Like the '6', a relationship exists here as well.
I did think it strange or a little pointless at first to have two cards with the same meaning, but now I think of it, it might be helpful for more than one reason.
Firstly, in a large read, it might be important to highlight the same relationship more than once.
Secondly, in our lives, many people have more than one relationship throughout. There may be, in a read, a need for both relationships to exist.
Nine of Diamonds
Uncertainty.
You are confused. You don't know what to believe. You are unsure and doubt something. Maybe it is the scandal in the '7' or the infedelity of the '4' you have trouble coming to terms with and believing.
On the other hand it might be someone else that is undesided. Maybe an employer has not yet made a decision about either you or another candidate while you sit and wait, in the hope that you will get the job.
Another meaning for this card is 'misunderstood'. Has someone got the wrong idea about you? Do you need to somehow try and rectify this?
Ten of Diamonds
This card stands for financial matters.
Pure and simple, it is money.
Money in bank accounts, spending money, overspending money, money in property, savings, money gambled.
If it is to do with fiances, expect to see this card. Surrounding cards, I imagine, will tell you the hows and whys of the situation.
Hope this makes sense?
