Pregnancy Spread

G'day All

My sister is a mother to be and still early in her first trimester. She is a diabetic and has had a previous miscarridge.
I put together a spread that can show me the progress and outcome of the unborn niece or nephew of mine!

After completing this spread, using Tiger Eye for help from my spirit guide, this was my outcome.

1. Hermit - My sister has told noone about this pregnancy so I am reading this card as "being kept in the dark", secrets etc
2. Empress - The nurturing mother and suggestive of preganancy with the 9 of pentacles in the 6 position
3. Queen of Pentacles - Nurturing with nature
4. King Of Swords - Can suggest success with a plan, in cinjunction with her health issues, if she managaes them well her outcome will be positve.
5. Justice - Babys health recieves justice card which I am reading that the health will be well in balance.
6/7 (gender). 9 of Pentacles, 3 of swords - Really need some guidance on this one, they are hoping for a girl but I am seeing they will have a boy. The 3 of swords depicts heart break over the sex???
8. Knight of Wands - I beleve this card depicts an early delivery, like a knight charges into war, I believe the baby will arrive earlier than expected, there is alot of Libra cards in this spread, the baby is due in January but I believe it will be in the Libra phase.
9. Ace of Swords - Depicts the new beginning

Hi, what an interesting spread. Just a couple thoughts on the Hermit/Empress/Queen of Pentacles.

It seems like your sister will really embrace motherhood during her 2nd trimester. I think you mentioned a miscarriage ... don't know where in her pregnancy it occurred, but with the Hermit followed by the Empress, I would think early 2nd maybe. So during the 1st, maybe she is just keeping her thoughts to herself, doesn't want to be overly excited due to her past experience.

Also with the transition from 2nd to 3rd, she will fully embrace motherhood like I mentioned, but perhaps she will be overly cautious, in a sense. Then going into the 3rd, she'll back off a bit, and just be comfortable and nurturing.

Anyway, hope that made sense.

...my take on the final outcome card... Ace of Swords...

May not be problems with a miscarriage, but if early delivery, what about
a Cesarean operation? Sometimes, I have seen, swords to mean actual cutting or surgery.

I always read the Ace of Swords as:
your old problems are passing away and now a new problem can possibly
arise that you will have to deal with.

Just a thought...but her doctor will probably let her know if that will happen
ahead of time.

I believe that the Knight of wands is the "messenger" (swiftly) bringing the
"message" (the baby) as you already stated. She needs to be near to a
hospital and a telephone at all times, just in case!

> Secrets about pregnancy is more like the Priestess. Hermit doesn't keep secrets like on purpose. Hermit is just introverted by personality. Once you ask Hermit a question, he will tell you what he knows. Therefore, I just see your sister just being distant emotionally about the pregnancy. She doesn't want to celebrate it for she did that the last time to only to have the celebration turn to sadness with the miscarriage. She has learned that a woman shouldn't really celebrate her pregnancy until after the child is born to know for sure.

That is why I feel that baby showers should only be given after a child is born, not before. Don't want to be in high spirits, then lose a baby to come home to all that baby stuff and gifts to make you feel more depressed for losing a child.

2. Empress - The nurturing mother and suggestive of preganancy with the 9 of pentacles in the 6 position

>The baby is developing quite will in the second trimester. Perhaps you sister is being told to really take care of herself at this time for the fetus overall health and hers. Like eat organic fresh foods. No processed foods that are high in fat, sugar, sodium. She should become a total health food crazy woman. Make sure her meat and diary is hormone free in order to not poison the fetus' nutrition.

3. Queen of Pentacles - Nurturing with nature

>More prenatal care is needed. This is the time to REALLY take care of her body. Or people may have to step up to the plate and take care of her. Perhaps she may have to quite her job early in order to be stay off her feet more. To have more Lamaze classes. To help her really watch her diet and to make sure her last trimester is stress-free.

She needs to be physically spoiled at this time.

4. King Of Swords - Can suggest success with a plan, in cinjunction with her health issues, if she managaes them well her outcome will be positve.

> I don't see gender in this position. I think the issues of having a healthy baby is more important to everyone than the sex. No one is being picky over gender, since the ability of having a baby is not a luxury for everyone...but a gift...if given at all. I think just having the ability to just have a baby, male or female, takes priority more than anything.

I see the card as a combition as "independence through separation" or "independence severed". I get the feeling that the baby will of some issues being in the womb where it can not be independent in that environment. Therefore, the 3 swords indicate a C-section. I get the feeling the baby will be born early than expected.

This translation can be seen both ways. Independence through separation = a C-section, or premature birth, but the baby can survive outside the womb without probelms. Or, "indepence severed" = C-section, or premature birth, but the baby will need medical technology in order to survive.

8. Knight of Wands - I beleve this card depicts an early delivery, like a knight charges into war, I believe the baby will arrive earlier than expected, there is alot of Libra cards in this spread, the baby is due in January but I believe it will be in the Libra phase.

Okay this is what I think....

This spread is based on what your sister is doing now and will continue to do based on her knowledge in the present.

To ensure she has a healthy baby, why don't you create a spread asking two question for all three trimester. For example...

1. During the first trimester, what can my sister do to improve her pregnancy health?
2. During the first trimester, what can my sister do to improve the baby's health?
3. During the first trimester, what can her husband do to improve the health of the wife/baby?

That way you can let the cards tell you what can be done in order to help her have a successful birth.

As for the 9 Pentacles, 3 Swords....a small part of me thinks that maybe just maybe the baby feel so independent in the womb that it doesn't want to come out. It is comfy and likes it there that the doctor's will have to perform a c-section or induce labor to get the little turkey out.

Whether the baby is born early or late....some form of medical help is needed to get the baby out.

I agree with your take and I would add I think your sister will have to consult with a specialist and keep everything in balance. You mentioned diabetes. i think she will have to be very careful to keep everything under control. Her moods and emotions as well since this effects her blood sugar. She will have to be hypercritical with her diet and care. She needs to stay in balance.

I think she will feel good during this pregnancy and each day she will feel better about herself - this will be transformative for her. She will heal her broken heart. I think it will be a girl. Although the 3 of swords could be a boy..... not too sure.

Yeah, I like that the Knight Wands = swift delivery, because an unexpected delivery would be Knight Swords? Is Knight Swords suit equivalent of the Tower?
